The IOTAVX SA40 amplifier stands out as a remarkable solution in today’s audiophile landscape. Offering a substantial power output of 2×300 watts at 4 ohms and a comprehensive array of analog and digital connections, this class AB integrated stereo amplifier delivers exceptional performance. Its approach favors efficiency over ostentation, with a rigorous technical design that has already won over several specialist publications. The versatility of the SA40 makes it a centerpiece capable of centralizing all your audio sources, from vinyl records to streaming services, including your television.
Generous Power for All Types of Speakers
The SA40 first impresses with its substantial amplification capacity. Delivering 2×150 watts at 8 ohms and doubling that power to 2×300 watts at 4 ohms, this amplifier has ample reserves to efficiently drive most speakers on the market. This generosity is largely due to the presence of an oversized toroidal transformer, ensuring stable power delivery even during the most demanding musical passages.
Even more impressive, the SA40 can operate in bridged mono mode when paired with the PA40 power amplifier from the same brand. This configuration achieves a colossal 600 watts at 4 ohms per channel, providing remarkable control over even the most difficult-to-drive speakers. An American user reports that this setup finally allowed his KEF LS50 Meta speakers to reach their full potential after four years of use, with a notable improvement in dynamics, control, and sound depth.
Exceptionally Comprehensive Connectivity
The SA40 stands out with particularly rich connectivity, making it a true nerve center for your audio system. On the analog side, there are 5 RCA line inputs, a professional-grade balanced XLR input, and a phono input compatible with both moving magnet (MM) and moving coil (MC) cartridges. This last feature is worth highlighting, as MC-compatible phono preamps are generally reserved for more expensive devices.
The digital section is equally well-equipped, with 2 optical inputs, 2 coaxial inputs, an HDMI ARC connection for easy integration with a modern TV, and Bluetooth 5.0 reception for wireless streaming from your mobile devices. The Cirrus Logic CS4398 digital-to-analog converter ensures precise conversion up to 24 bits/192 kHz, guaranteeing faithful reproduction of high-resolution digital sources.
Output options include a preamplifier output, a recorder output, a mono subwoofer output for integrating a subwoofer, and a front-panel headphone jack. The two pairs of speaker terminals allow you to power a second pair of speakers in another room.
Advanced Features for Demanding Audiophiles
The “Amp In” input is one of the most interesting features of the SA40, allowing you to either integrate an external signal processor to customize the sound or use the device as a simple power amplifier. This flexibility is valuable for audiophiles who want to experiment with different configurations or integrate the SA40 into a complex system.
The tone control offers precise adjustment of bass and treble in 1 dB steps up to ±10 dB, allowing you to tailor the sound to the acoustic characteristics of your listening room. The balance control, also finely adjustable with 10 steps in each direction, ensures optimal stereo balance.
In a home theater context, the SA40 can connect to your TV via HDMI ARC to significantly enhance the sound of your movies and TV shows. It can also serve as an amplifier for the front channels in a surround setup, thanks to its bypass input.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between using the SA40 alone and combining it with the PA40 in bridged mode?
+
When used alone, the SA40 delivers 2×150W at 8 ohms (2×300W at 4 ohms). When combined with the PA40 power amplifier in bridged mode, you get a mono configuration that doubles the power, reaching 300W at 8 ohms and 600W at 4 ohms per channel. This setup significantly improves bass control, dynamics, and the ability to handle difficult-to-drive speakers.
Can the amplifier be controlled remotely?
+
The device comes with a remote control that gives access to all functions. In addition, the RS232 and 12V trigger ports allow the SA40 to be integrated into more complex home automation systems for centralized control.
What types of speakers are best suited to the SA40?
+
Thanks to its generous power and ability to double its output at 4 ohms, the SA40 can efficiently drive a wide range of speakers. It is particularly well-suited to models with medium to difficult impedance (4–8 ohms). For extremely demanding or very low-efficiency speakers, the bridged configuration with the PA40 provides a welcome extra power reserve.

I don’t have the expertise or resources of a demanding audiophile. However, this is a powerful amp that delivers clear sound even at high volume. I tested it with different types of music and the result is surprising. A beautiful amp that, for its price, is a must-have!!

Before IOTAVX SA40 i owned advance paris 1100 amplifier which was powerfull amp with neutral sound. I like more IOTAVX SA40 because is powerfull as well but presents more open, fresh detailed sound and everything is equal. there is no mess with the sound. IOTAVX SA40 proved that you don't need to spend 3000 euro to buy fancy amplifier from big names (brands) to hear great sound which you can have from IOTAVX SA40 for 1000 euro. IOTAVX SA40 is also very easy/fast to control function manually or using remote control. I'm very happy.
