Initially very impressed with the product and the ease of navigation. However, there is a noticeable humming noise from the unit when stood close to it which is very disappointing.

The T8 marks a strategic shift for EverSolo, introducing its first dedicated network transport without an integrated digital-to-analog converter. This modular approach lets users keep their preferred DAC while benefiting from the Chinese brand’s renowned software expertise and an especially refined digital transmission built on a femtosecond clock and electrically isolated outputs.
The T8’s physical architecture reflects particular care for preserving the digital signal. The CNC-machined aluminum chassis not only offers a refined finish; it actively contributes to protection against electromagnetic interference. The fluted sides and robust construction continue the aesthetic of the brand’s DMP models, with dimensions of 31.5 cm wide, 23 cm deep, and 8.8 cm high.
The 15.2 cm touch display dominating the front benefits from dedicated physical shielding, isolating it from adjacent audio circuits. This mechanical separation between the user interface and the components dedicated to signal processing is a noteworthy technical feature, rarely implemented at this price point. Virtual touch buttons complete the interface, offering direct control without compromising the carefully orchestrated electrical isolation.
The internal design prioritizes separation of critical functions. The ultra-quiet linear power supply, built around a 4N oxygen-free copper toroidal transformer with Teflon-insulated wiring, maintains a remarkably low noise level of 30 microvolts. This dedicated electrical infrastructure powers the audio sections exclusively, ensuring uncontaminated transmission of the digital signal to the external DAC.
Temporal synchronization is central to any digital transmission. The T8 incorporates a master clock with femtosecond precision (one millionth of a billionth of a second). This clock reduces jitter, the timing variations that can affect the coherence and fidelity of music reproduction.
The impact of this technology goes beyond simply lowering distortion measurements. It ensures precise sound focus, stable stereo imaging, and natural dynamics, preserving micro-details and the complex temporal relationships between different elements of a recording. This temporal precision is maintained regardless of listening duration, as the clock retains thermal and electrical stability thanks to the careful isolation of its environment.
The T8’s variety of digital outputs reflects its universal vocation. Each interface is designed to maintain signal integrity, with systematic electrical isolation effectively blocking ground loops and parasitic interference:
Network connectivity receives similar attention. Beyond the standard gigabit Ethernet port and dual-band Wi‑Fi 6, the T8 offers an SFP port for installing fiber optic modules. This option, uncommon in the consumer space, provides total electrical isolation between the transport and the network, eliminating any possibility of contamination from surrounding IT equipment.
Two M.2 SSD slots allow up to 16 TB of internal storage (2 x 8 TB maximum). This generous capacity enables a substantial music library accessible directly, with no reliance on the network. Additional USB 3.0 ports further extend storage options and allow playback from external media.
Local file management is handled via the touch interface or the control app, with smooth navigation among sources. The system automatically recognizes folder structures, extracts metadata, and generates smart playlists blending local content and streaming. Compatibility extends to practically all audiophile formats: DSD (DSF, DFF, SACD ISO DST) up to DSD512, PCM up to 768 kHz/32-bit, as well as common compressed formats.
The T8 inherits the custom Android operating system that has built EverSolo’s reputation since the DMP-A6. This platform, powered by a quad-core ARM processor with 4 GB of DDR4 RAM and 64 GB of eMMC storage, ensures smooth navigation and instant response.
Native integration of leading high-resolution streaming services—Tidal, Qobuz, Amazon Music, Deezer, TuneIn Radio—is complemented by direct-connect protocols: Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, and Roon Ready certification. This last certification positions the T8 as a reference endpoint for users of this sophisticated music management platform.
The EverSolo Control app, available on iOS, Android, iPadOS, and macOS, offers full control with real-time screen mirroring. The included dual-mode remote (Bluetooth and infrared) provides a convenient alternative for quick adjustments without using a smartphone.
The EvoTune room correction system is a feature typically reserved for more expensive devices. Using FIR (Finite Impulse Response) algorithms, it analyzes the listening room’s acoustic characteristics and automatically compensates for resonances and standing waves.
Calibration is performed via the EverSolo EM-01 external microphone (recommended for optimal accuracy) or even with a smartphone’s microphone. The system then generates tailored correction filters, delivering a linear frequency response regardless of environmental acoustic constraints.
A 10-band parametric equalizer complements this toolkit, enabling fine adjustments of specific frequencies with control over gain and Q factor. Advanced users can import their own FIR filters, while loudness and dynamic compression functions adapt playback to different listening contexts.
EverSolo, a Shenzhen-based subsidiary of Zidoo, has established itself within a few years as a key player in audiophile streaming. The technical progression from the original DMP-A6 to the recent DMP-A10 demonstrates growing mastery of digital technologies and a nuanced understanding of user expectations.
The DMP-A6 Gen 2 surprised the market with an unbeatable price-to-performance ratio. The DMP-A8 then consolidated this position by adding a quality analog preamplifier and a DAC section based on AKM chips. The flagship DMP-A10 showcased the brand’s ability to compete with established references in the high-end market.
The T8 fits into this upward trajectory with a different approach: rather than cramming ever more features into a single device, EverSolo opts for specialization. This modular philosophy, embodied by the simultaneously introduced T8/DAC-Z10 duo, allows maximum optimization of each link in the audio chain.
The T8 is operationally bulletproof. This sample has been here a while now and at no stage during intensive and heavy handed use has the T8 so much as hinted at needing attention. [...] The engineering in the T8 is peerless but the amount of sonic difference it can make over less ornate solutions will always be relatively limited. It's a pleasure to use… but so is Eversolo's DMP A6 Gen2 at over £400 less.
Yes. The T8 can play files stored on internal SSDs, USB drives, or access local NAS servers without an internet connection. Only streaming services require an active connection. The touch interface and mobile app remain fully functional offline for managing the local library.
I2S physically separates clock and data signals, potentially reducing jitter. However, not all DACs support I2S and there are eight different modes requiring proper configuration. USB remains more universal and, thanks to the T8’s full isolation, offers comparable performance with modern USB Audio Class 2 DACs.
No. EvoTune electronically compensates for certain acoustic issues but cannot substitute proper physical treatment. It effectively addresses resonances and adjusts frequency response, but primary reflections and reverberation time remain unchanged. The ideal setup combines physical acoustic treatment with digital correction.
Fiber optic ensures total galvanic isolation, eliminating any electrical pollution via the network. In electrically noisy environments or with variable-quality network equipment, this isolation can indeed improve clarity and background silence. The impact, however, depends on overall system quality and the electrical environment.
The screen can be turned off or set to different brightness levels. Sleep mode completely disables the backlight while keeping the system active. This helps preserve signal purity by reducing potential electromagnetic interference, although the physical shielding already minimizes this impact.

For the price I was a little worried, but what hardware quality, and on the firmware side there's nothing to complain about, it's perfect and easy to install. The sound seems clean to me, and the app is the best I know along with Wiim's
