Fitting a serious speaker into a width of 14.5 cm and a depth of 10 cm requires clear engineering choices. The Puro 30 completes the German manufacturer’s new Puro series with a compact sealed-box model, built around a 110 mm aluminum woofer/midrange driver, a 25 mm aluminum dome tweeter, and an integrated wall mount to remain discreet in a living room.

Compact format and finish palette

At 14.5 × 21.5 × 10 cm and 2 kg, the speaker fits on a narrow shelf, a low cabinet, or mounts directly against a wall. The design remains understated, with clean edges and a fabric grille held magnetically, with no visible pegs on the front panel. Canton offers the model in five shades: matte black, matte white, sand, rose, and walnut. The last three move away from the usual hi-fi speaker palette and broaden the possibilities for matching with colorful furniture or light wood veneer.

Sealed enclosure and 2-way aluminum design

The acoustic assembly is based on two aluminum drivers: a 25 mm dome for the treble and a 110 mm woofer/midrange for the rest of the spectrum. The crossover point is set at 3900 Hz. Canton chose a sealed enclosure rather than a bass-reflex port, a consistent choice for wall placement or bookshelf use. Bass pressure remains more controlled, without a coloration bump when the speaker is positioned just a few centimeters from a wall. The response extends down to 45 Hz, a respectable lower limit for such a small internal volume, without claiming to rival a floorstanding speaker. To gain more extension, pairing it with a subwoofer makes perfect sense.

On the electrical side, the 86.5 dB sensitivity and impedance ranging from 4 to 8 ohms work well with a modest to moderately powered amplifier, around the recommended 50 W RMS range (120 W peak).

Wall mounting, stand, or shelf

The rear panel directly integrates a wall-mounting system, without requiring a separate kit. This is the use most in line with the speaker’s design, especially as rear surround speakers in a home theater system. For stereo bookshelf use, the Canton LS 250.2 stand is available as an accessory and raises the tweeter to ear level in a seated listening position. The terminal accepts banana plugs and makes connection easier when rear access is difficult.

In stereo, surround, or with a subwoofer

As a stereo pair, two units serve as the front speakers of a system installed in a modestly sized room. Paired with an active subwoofer, the speaker gains authority in the sub-bass without increasing visual bulk. In home theater, it is well suited to the role of rear or side surround speakers, complementing a larger front pair. Canton pairs the Puro 30 with the Puro 90 floorstanding speaker from the same series, for those seeking tonal consistency throughout the living room.
