Overview
Fitting a serious speaker into 14.5 cm of width and 10 cm of depth requires clear engineering choices. The Puro 30 rounds out the new Puro series from the German manufacturer with a compact sealed speaker model that relies on a 110 mm aluminum woofer/midrange driver, a 25 mm aluminum dome tweeter, and integrated wall mounting to remain discreet in a living room.
Compact format and finish palette
At 14.5 × 21.5 × 10 cm and 2 kg, the speaker fits on a narrow shelf, a low cabinet, or mounts directly against a wall. The design remains understated, with clean edges and a fabric grille held magnetically in place without visible pegs on the front panel. Canton offers the model in five shades: matte black, matte white, sand, rosy, and walnut. The last three move away from the usual hi-fi speaker palette and broaden the options for matching with colorful furniture or light wood veneer.
Sealed enclosure and 2-way aluminum design
The acoustic assembly is based on two aluminum drivers: a 25 mm dome for the treble and a 110 mm woofer/midrange for the rest of the spectrum. The crossover point is at 3900 Hz. Canton chose a sealed enclosure rather than a bass-reflex port, a coherent choice for wall placement or bookshelf use. Bass pressure remains more controlled, without a coloration hump when the speaker ends up a few centimeters from a partition. The response goes down to 45 Hz, a respectable floor for such a limited internal volume, without claiming to compete with a floorstander. To gain more extension, pairing it with a subwoofer makes perfect sense.
On the electrical side, the 86.5 dB sensitivity and impedance ranging from 4 to 8 ohms work with a modest to moderate-power amplifier, in the area of the recommended 50 W RMS (120 W peak).
Wall mounting, stand, or shelf
The rear panel directly integrates a wall-mounting system, without the need for a separate kit. This is the use most in line with the speaker’s design, especially as rear surround speakers in a home theater system. For stereo bookshelf use, the Canton LS 250.2 stand is available as an accessory and raises the tweeter to ear level in a seated listening position. The terminal accepts banana plugs and makes connection easier when rear access remains difficult.
In stereo, surround, or with a subwoofer
As a stereo pair, two units serve as the front speakers of a system installed in a modest-sized room. Paired with an active subwoofer, the speaker gains more authority in the deep bass without increasing visual bulk. In home theater, it suits the role of rear or side surround speakers, alongside a more imposing front pair. Canton pairs the Puro 30 with the Puro 90 floorstander from the same series, for those seeking tonal consistency throughout the living room.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which amplifier should be paired with the Puro 30?
With a sensitivity of 86.5 dB and a nominal power rating of 50 W, the speaker only requires an integrated amplifier of متوسط power. Allow for 40 to 80 W per channel into 4 ohms for comfortable operation, without aiming for extreme listening levels. More power will not bring it much: its internal volume and sealed enclosure set a physical limit on the reproduced bass.
Is a subwoofer essential?
No, but it significantly extends the low-frequency response. According to Canton, the Puro 30 goes down to 45 Hz, which covers the vast majority of acoustic and vocal music. For movies, explosive effects and orchestral soundtracks benefit from being handled by a dedicated subwoofer below 60 to 80 Hz.
Can it be used as a center speaker for home theater?
Canton does not present it as a dedicated center speaker. The Puro series offers a separate model for that role. The Puro 30 is instead intended for the main left/right channels, as surround speakers, or as rear speakers.
Should space be left behind the speaker?
The sealed enclosure reduces placement constraints compared with a rear-ported bass-reflex speaker. The Puro 30 can be installed against a wall or in its immediate vicinity, without a pronounced bass bump. A few centimeters of clearance are sufficient.
What finishes are available?
Five shades: matte black, matte white, sand, rose, and walnut. The latter adds a wood touch to the cabinet, while the two colored finishes (sand, rose) stand out from the black/white palette that dominates the speaker market.
