WiiM Bar, Dolby Atmos 3.0.2 soundbar
Connect a single device beneath the television to enjoy cinema-quality sound, then use it as a network player once the screen is off: the WiiM Bar combines these two uses. This 3.0.2-format soundbar decodes Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, is controlled from a round touchscreen on the front panel, and can expand into a complete surround system over time.
Eight speakers and two upward-firing channels
The WiiM Bar features eight active speakers and four passive radiators, for total system power of 135 W. The 3.0.2 designation describes the channel layout: the first figure indicates the front channels (three here: left, centre and right), the second the surround channels (none as standard), and the third the height channels (two).
At the front, three 110 × 52 mm mid-bass drivers and three 52 × 52 mm tweeters cover the left, centre and right channels. The dedicated centre channel carries dialogue, which remains anchored in the middle of the image regardless of where you sit on the sofa. Two 52 × 52 mm full-range drivers are aimed at the ceiling: their sound travels upward, reflects, and comes back down to the listener, placing certain effects above the soundstage for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X soundtracks.
Bass comes from four 115 × 50 mm passive radiators, two at the front and two at the rear. A passive radiator is a driverless diaphragm that vibrates under the air pressure displaced by the active speakers, enhancing the low end without additional electronics. As standard, the soundbar therefore covers the three front channels and the two height channels; surround channels and the subwoofer can then be added with compatible WiiM devices.
Decoding Dolby Atmos and DTS:X
The WiiM Bar decodes LPCM, Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, AC3, DTS and DTS:X. Dolby Atmos and DTS:X are object-based formats: instead of assigning each effect to a fixed speaker, they position sounds in space, including overhead, and the soundbar distributes them across its front and height channels. Dolby TrueHD is a lossless format that preserves the full quality of a disc soundtrack.
The connection to the television is made via HDMI eARC. This port sends television audio back to the soundbar through a single HDMI cable and carries the most demanding formats, including lossless Dolby TrueHD and Dolby Atmos, when provided by the source. The soundbar also has an optical input and an analogue line input for televisions and sources without an HDMI eARC port.
Adapting sound to the room and voices
RoomFit room correction analyses the room and adjusts the frequency response for the listening position, so that performance is not overly affected by the walls and furniture around the soundbar. For dialogue, Clear Voice and AI Dialog Enhancement modes isolate voices from the rest of the soundtrack when a film gets too quiet in whispered passages or too loud in action scenes. Night mode narrows the gap between loud and quiet passages, allowing you to watch a film late without waking the household.
Four sound modes are available: Movie, Music, Enhanced Voice and Night. Fine adjustment is available through 24 equalisation presets, a 10-band graphic equaliser and, in the WiiM Home app, a 10-band parametric equaliser. The graphic equaliser works on fixed frequency bands; the parametric equaliser also lets you select the exact frequency and width of each adjustment. Equalisation can also be adjusted by source.
The round display and controls on the soundbar
The front panel features a round, high-resolution 2.1-inch colour LCD touchscreen covered with glass. It displays album artwork, track information, the time, the equalisation curve, smart presets, recent playback, clock faces, animated wallpapers and album artwork in standby mode. Playback controls (play, pause, track skip, like), source selection and quick access to the equaliser are available directly on the screen.
Smart presets open favourite content or routines, such as a radio station or playlist, with one press, without taking out your phone. On top, proximity-backlit capacitive buttons control volume, play and pause, as well as source switching; they light up when your hand approaches. An RGB+W LED status indicator completes the package.
Control via the app and voice
The WiiM Home app is used for setup, via Wi-Fi or Ethernet, then for streaming control, device grouping, equalisation, presets and WiiM device management. Voice control works with Alexa and Google Assistant. A remote control, the WiiM Bar Remote, is supplied: it manages playback, volume, source switching, sound modes, muting, standby and voice control where available.
Inputs and wireless connections
For wired connections, the WiiM Bar has an HDMI eARC port for the television, an optical input, an analogue line input, a 10 / 100 Mbps Ethernet port for a stable wired network connection, and a USB Host port that accepts storage as well as USB audio input or output.
Wirelessly, the soundbar features tri-band Wi-Fi 6E on 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz, supporting 802.11 b / g / n / ax. The less congested 6 GHz band helps maintain a consistent network stream in a home where many devices share Wi-Fi. Bluetooth 5.3 receives audio from a phone, tablet, television or computer, and can also send it to headphones or a Bluetooth speaker. It supports BLE, A2DP receive and transmit, AVRCP and HID profiles, and supports LE Audio via a software update.
Streaming and multi-room listening
The WiiM Bar plays more than 20 music services from the WiiM Home app, including Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, TIDAL, Qobuz, Deezer, TuneIn and SoundCloud. It supports Google Cast Audio, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Amazon Music Cast, DLNA / UPnP, Qplay 3.0, LMS and Roon. “Connect” functions and Roon Ready allow playback to be controlled from the service’s app, with the soundbar serving as a destination on the network. AirPlay 2 is not supported; Apple sources work via Bluetooth or these compatible services.
Via the USB port, the soundbar plays a personal library from a USB drive or external disk using FAT32, NTFS and EXT4 file systems, and can act as a media server for other WiiM and DLNA devices on the same network. For music, it can be grouped with other WiiM devices, such as the WiiM Amp, WiiM Ultra, WiiM Pro, WiiM Mini and WiiM Edition speakers, to play the same synchronised track in several rooms. Alexa and Google Cast multi-room functions are also available.
From a soundbar to wireless 5.1.2
The WiiM Bar starts in 3.0.2 and can expand to wireless 5.1.2. A compatible WiiM wireless subwoofer is first added to extend deeper into the bass. Two compatible WiiM speakers, placed behind the listener, then handle the surround channels. The complete configuration combines the three front channels, two height channels, two surround channels and the subwoofer. Everything is adjusted and synchronised from the WiiM Home app, with no cables to run to the back of the room.
Installing the soundbar beneath the television
The WiiM Bar measures 1060 mm wide, 80 mm high and 105 mm deep, weighing 5 kg. Its low height helps it fit beneath the lower edge of a television without blocking the screen. It can be placed on furniture or wall-mounted, with two wall brackets and their screws supplied. It operates on 100 to 240 V, at 50 / 60 Hz, with the included power cable, and is set up from the WiiM Home app via Wi-Fi or Ethernet.

Frequently asked questions
My TV doesn't have an HDMI eARC port. Will the WiiM Bar still work?
Yes. The HDMI eARC port carries audio from the TV with the highest-quality tracks, including lossless Dolby TrueHD and Dolby Atmos. If the TV only has a standard HDMI ARC port or an optical output, the soundbar’s optical input receives compressed formats such as Dolby Digital and DTS. The analog line input is suitable for an older source. To enjoy full, lossless Atmos, an HDMI eARC port on the TV is still required.
Which cables are included? Do I need to buy any others?
The box contains the WiiM Bar, the WiiM Bar Remote, a power cable, an HDMI cable, an optical cable, two wall-mount brackets with screws, and the user guide. The HDMI cable connects the soundbar to the TV’s HDMI eARC port, while the optical cable supports TVs without eARC. No additional purchase is required for a standard connection.
Will it fit under my TV without blocking the screen?
The soundbar is 1060 mm wide and 80 mm high. Its low height allows it to fit beneath the bottom edge of most screens without blocking them or interfering with the TV remote control sensor. The main point to check is the available width on the unit: 1060 mm, or about one metre. For wall mounting, both brackets and their screws are included in the box.
Can I stream music from an iPhone or a Mac?
Wireless playback from an Apple device is via Bluetooth or compatible services: Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect and Google Cast Audio, controlled from their own apps. The WiiM Bar does not support AirPlay 2. The WiiM Home app, available on iOS, is used for setup and complete sound adjustment.
How can I upgrade to true surround sound later?
The WiiM Bar starts in 3.0.2, with three front channels and two height channels, and can be expanded wirelessly up to 5.1.2. First, add a WiiM subwoofer for bass, then two compatible WiiM speakers placed behind the listener for surround channels. Everything is configured and synchronized from the WiiM Home app, with no cables running to the back of the room.
Can it be voice-controlled and listened to in multiple rooms?
Yes. Voice control works with Alexa and Google Assistant, a remote control is included, and the front touch screen adjusts the volume, source and sound modes without a phone. For music, the soundbar can be grouped with other WiiM devices, such as the WiiM Amp, WiiM Ultra, WiiM Pro, WiiM Mini and WiiM Edition speakers, to play the same track in sync across multiple rooms.
