Vogel's TVM 5505 Black
Vogel’s Elite TVM 5505 Black, ultra-slim fixed TV wall mount
Thirteen millimetres: that’s the space left between the wall and the back of the television once the screen is mounted. Vogel’s makes this its slimmest wall mount, suitable for screens from 32 to 77 inches weighing up to 75 kg. The mount is fixed, with no tilt or swivel, and installation is simplified at every stage: a drilling template, a drilling assistance app, mounting guidance and click-locking.
A 13 mm profile that keeps the screen flush against the wall
The mount measures 512 mm wide by 435 mm high, with a depth of just those 13 mm. With an OLED television or a flat-backed Mini LED model, the screen appears to sit directly against the wall, without the visible gap left by articulated mounts. The black finish disappears behind the television, even when viewed from an angle.
This shallow depth comes with a trade-off: the screen does not tilt. The mounting height must therefore be decided when drilling, and the safest rule is to position the centre of the screen at eye level for someone seated on the sofa. Above a fireplace or a tall piece of furniture, a tilting mount remains more suitable.
The reduced clearance also calls for a look at the television’s connections. Side-facing or downward-facing sockets pose no problem, but those pointing straight out of the back leave little room for a thick HDMI cable. Cables with right-angle plugs or more flexible cables solve this issue. The mount includes cable management to keep cables along the frame rather than leaving them dangling.
Guided mounting with secure locking
Two vertical brackets screw onto the back of the television. They accommodate VESA mounting patterns from 100 × 100 to 400 × 400 mm, in all common combinations (200 × 200, 300 × 300, 400 × 300 and intermediate formats), for a mounting interface up to 493 mm wide and 432 mm high. The necessary screws are supplied in the TV mounting kit.
Once the plate is secured to the wall, the GuidanceSystem shows exactly where to position the screen during mounting, a delicate task when a 65- or 77-inch television completely blocks the view behind it. The television then clicks securely into place on the plate, and a lateral lock prevents it from sliding sideways if someone bumps into the screen while passing. For a large screen, installation remains easiest with two people: one carries, the other guides.
A 500 mm plate for choosing your anchor points
The wall plate has two rows of fixing holes arranged vertically across its full 500 mm width. This choice of positions allows you to line up with the studs in a timber-framed partition wall, or avoid an electrical conduit or a concrete block joint without moving the entire mount.
The supplied fischer DuoPower wall plugs are universal dual-material plugs that work in concrete, solid or hollow brick and plasterboard. However, the 75 kg load capacity depends on the strength of the wall itself: on a single layer of plasterboard, it is best to anchor the mount into the studs or choose fixings specifically designed for hollow walls.
The supplied drilling template transfers the hole positions without manual measurements. No spirit level is included: the DrillRight app, free on iOS and Android, includes a level that uses the smartphone’s sensors and guides you through every stage of drilling.
Steel, TÜV certification and a fifteen-year warranty
The mount is made almost entirely of steel (1,758 g of steel and 64 g of plastics), and Vogel’s states that it is 100% recyclable, with a carbon footprint of 6.5 kg CO₂ equivalent. Its strength is certified by TÜV, and like all mounts in the ELITE range, it comes with a 15-year warranty, a period covering several generations of televisions.

Frequently asked questions
How can I check if my TV is compatible?
Three points are enough. The VESA mounting hole spacing, listed in the manual or on the TV’s specification sheet, must be between 100 × 100 and 400 × 400 mm. The weight of the screen alone, without its stand, must not exceed 75 kg. The screen diagonal must be between 32 and 77 inches (81 to 196 cm). A TV with 600 × 400 mm mounting hole spacing, common on very large models, is not supported.
Can the mount be installed on a plasterboard partition wall?
Yes, provided care is taken with the anchoring. The supplied fischer DuoPower wall plugs work in plasterboard, but for a heavy screen, securing it to the partition’s tracks or studs is preferable. The double row of holes in the wall plate helps locate these studs without shifting the TV from its intended position.
Can the TV be tilted once mounted?
No, the mount is fixed: the screen stays parallel to the wall. This allows a clearance of just 13 mm. The mounting height must therefore be chosen carefully before drilling.
Will I need a spirit level?
It’s not essential. The drilling template positions the holes, and the DrillRight app acts as a spirit level via your smartphone. A traditional spirit level is still useful for checking that the plate is horizontal once the first screws are in place.
How do I route the cables with so little space behind the screen?
Use thin cables or cables with right-angle plugs for connections facing the rear of the TV, and route them through the stand’s integrated cable management system. For a look with no visible wires, a cable raceway painted to match the wall or in-wall routing down to the TV cabinet completes the installation.
What alternative is there for a screen larger than 77 inches?
The ELITE range offers the TVM 5705, also fixed and ultra-slim, which accommodates larger screen sizes. It uses the same mounting design to sit as close to the wall as possible.
