Overview

The Naim DAC produces exceptional music, its first hallmark; the second is its versatility. This versatility comes from its S/PDIF inputs which can accommodate optical or coaxial formats and its USB inputs which can be used to connect USB keys or iPhone and iPod models. It also results from the multiple evolutions of Naim systems that the DAC makes possible. On the occasion of its launch, the CDX2 and CD5 XS CD players were equipped with S/PDIF outputs and can now significantly benefit from their use with the DAC. By adding a DAC, existing preamplifiers can be integrated into digital audio systems. The Naim DAC can be controlled by a Naim preamplifier remote control, allowing perfect integration of the digital and analog inputs of both units. The DAC becomes an extension of the preamplifier. And when a USB key, iPod or iPhone is connected to it, the input buttons on the front of the DAC transform to serve as playback control buttons.
