HDCP 2.2 upgrade for all 8 HDMI inputs
This new processor provides up to 11.2 channels and features 3D sound options, including Dolby Atmos and Auro-3D. The AV8802 enhances audio quality by processing all signals through HDAM preamplifier circuits in a current feedback topology before sending them to the XLR outputs and the separate power amplifier block. As a result, sound quality is optimized for all current high-resolution audio formats.
On the video side, it supports the new generation of 4K Ultra HD videos, as well as the latest HDMI version including 4K 50/60 Hz pass-through and Pure Color 4:4:4. It has 8 HDMI inputs, one of which is located on the front panel, and 3 HDMI outputs.
Technically, it has built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, new HDAM circuits (Current Feedback type circuit) specially developed by Ken Ichiwata, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Pro Logic IIz and DTS-HD decoders, automatic calibration via Audyssey MultEQ XT and XT PRO microphone, not to mention AirPlay compatibility.
Also noteworthy are the DLNA function associated with access to web radios, an optimization mode for compressed audio files called M-Dax2, and multi-room management (zone 2 and zone 3). Other features include access to Last.fm, Spotify Connect and Flickr services.
In terms of supported audio formats, compatibility with MP3, WMA, AAC, Flac (up to 192 kHz/24 bits), Wav, DSD, AIFF and Jpeg is ensured, as well as Alac and Gapless playback mode.
