Ultra HD (4K)

Ultra HD (4K) resolution displays 3840 x 2160 pixels, i.e. four times the definition of Full HD. This pixel density eliminates the screen-door effect visible at close range and allows larger screen sizes without loss of sharpness, which explains its widespread use on 4K televisions as well as on video projectors dedicated to home cinema.

Ultra HD is the current standard for streaming platforms, high-definition physical discs, and satellite broadcasting. 4K is almost always combined with HDR ranges (HDR10, Dolby Vision, HDR10+) that extend the image’s brightness dynamics and color palette, for deeper contrast and colors faithful to the original capture.
