We have chosen to talk about the Kandy K3 INT integrated amplifier which succeeds the Kandy K2 from British manufacturer Roksan, an audiophile amplifier that the specialized press has praised so highly (Diapason d’Or - 5 stars What Hifi - Choc Classica Hi-Fi)
It is a high-end hi-fi amplifier that we particularly appreciate. It is therefore on display in the store for regular demonstrations. We usually pair it with Triangle or B&W speakers due to its “tube-like” sound. Aesthetically, the K3 is very understated with beautiful chrome knobs in rounded shapes, available in three different finishes: anthracite (grey), charcoal (black) and opium (brown).
The Kandy 3 INT boasts an output power of 140 W RMS into 8 Ohms, a low-noise 550VA toroidal transformer with a huge current reserve, a fully symmetrical construction and 14 kg on the scale, allowing it to drive many speakers on the market. Roksan has not forgotten the practical side either. It is equipped with a high-quality Bluetooth APTX wireless connection, a headphone jack, 5 audio inputs including one switchable to Bypass input (for use with a home cinema amplifier), vinyl enthusiasts will be delighted with its quality MM phono input, it also has outputs to add a power amplifier, an ultra-complete device and Roksan remains one of the only manufacturers to guarantee its products for 5 years against manufacturing defects.
As mentioned above, its sound approaching a “tube” sound encouraged us to pair it with Triangle, Focal or B&W speakers. Its strength comes from a dense midrange where suppleness of textures and a strong ability to analyze harmonics are combined. It is supported by bass with quite stunning tonicity and level for an integrated amplifier. Without being overblown, it provides a quite remarkable foundation. Moreover, you get an excellent sense of space, the soundstage is wide with good depth.

I purchased this amplifier and have no regrets at all. I paired it with a set of Focal Aria 936 speakers, and it's simply blissful. The sound is very well balanced, even at low volumes.
For a very reasonable price given its quality, I highly recommend it before making any purchase.
If I had to find one small drawback, it would be a lack of precision when adjusting the volume with the remote control. However, in my opinion, this does not at all call into question the decision to acquire this amp.
