The AX1 is the integrated amplifier of the Smart Line.

The goal of our development team was to create an integrated amplifier that prioritizes sound quality and can satisfy the demanding audiophile while keeping the price in check. This objective was achieved without any compromises in terms of performance, component selection, connectivity, aesthetics, or build quality. With the AX1, Advance Paris delivers on the promise of uncompromising quality and absolute excellence!

It doesn’t get any better in terms of ergonomics. Inside, each space is judiciously utilized, without cramming the various elements. The power stages, composed of a push-pull of bipolar transistors per channel, are powered by a 350 VA toroidal transformer, with voltages rectified and then filtered by 2 x 6800 μF at 50 volts. A second power supply feeds the low-power elements, such as the Wolfson WM8740 DAC, preceded by an Asahi Kasei AK4113 reception interface. The AX1 can convert PCM up to 192 kHz at 24 bits.

We deliberately limited the power of our integrated amplifier to 2x45W at 8 Ω or 2x65W at 4 Ω, yet driving acoustic speakers with average or even modest efficiency is no problem. The low end does not lack firmness or precision. We have managed to create a balance between a presence in the low end of the spectrum and sufficient tension to never veer into heaviness. Advance draws the necessary energy without limitation to respect the dynamic envelope imposed by each musical track.
