4K Native and 8K/e-shift Projection

“E-shift” is JVC’s proprietary high-resolution display technology that shifts a pixel by 0.5 pixels vertically and horizontally to achieve 4 times the pixel density of the original content. The 8K/e-shift technology adopted for the DLA-NX9 combines “e-shift” technology with another exclusive technology, Multi Pixel Control, allowing conversion of Full HD and 4K images to resolutions equivalent to 8K (8192 horizontal by 4320 vertical). The result is a highly visual, high-definition display that stays true to the original subject matter.

High-Resolution Glass Lens

The DLA-NX9 features a glass lens with 18 elements and 16 groups in an aluminum barrel. This 100 mm diameter lens offers an extended optical shift of ±100% on the vertical axis and ±43% on the horizontal axis. To project high-resolution images to every corner of the screen, the projector incorporates five low-dispersion lenses that account for R/G/B refractive index differences to reduce chromatic aberration and color fringing when the optical shift engages, accurately reproducing 8K resolution images. The DLA-N7 and DLA-N5 models feature a 65 mm diameter glass lens with 17 elements and 15 groups to project sharp native 4K resolution images to all four corners of the screen.

Auto Tone Mapping

The Auto Tone Mapping function on the latest models automatically adjusts each content based on the values in the mastering information, such as Max CLL and Max FALL*6, which indicate the brightness level of HDR content. The image quality is automatically modified for optimal viewing of different HDR images at their specific brightness.
