With its 62 cm height, this stand positions bookshelf speakers exactly where the tweeters need to be: at ear level when seated. The S05 uses a tried-and-tested design from Triangle, the Picardy-based manufacturer located in Soissons since 1980: a central aluminum column combined with a molded glass base and a non-slip top plate capable of supporting loads of up to 25 kg.
Aluminum structure and glass base
The S05’s central column is made of aluminum, a choice that combines mechanical rigidity with vibration damping. This column can be filled with fine sand or metal pellets (sold separately under the reference “Stand Filler”) to increase the stand’s inertia and reduce the transmission of resonances generated by the movement of the drivers.
The bottom plate is a molded glass slab fired at high temperature. The molding process gives the glass higher density and strength than ordinary glass.
Adaptive decoupling depending on floor type
Triangle supplies two sets of accessories to adapt the S05 to different floor coverings. The height-adjustable steel spikes are suitable for soft floors like carpets or thick rugs: they pierce through the covering to anchor the stand directly to the hard surface underneath. The rubber pads are intended for hard floors (tiles, hardwood, polished concrete) where spikes could scratch or slip. Protective discs are also included to protect delicate surfaces.
The total height varies slightly depending on the chosen option: 62 cm with the rubber pads, 64 cm with the metal spikes.
Top plate and cable management
The plate that supports the speaker is 18 cm wide and 29.5 cm deep. These dimensions accommodate most bookshelf speakers on the market, including compact models like the Triangle Comète or Capella, as well as larger speakers from other manufacturers. The non-slip coating prevents any movement, even during dynamic passages at high sound levels.
A cable channel is integrated at the rear of the column. The speaker cables can run down inside the column and exit at the base, clearing the visual field and simplifying system organization.
Compatibility with Triangle Comète 40th Anniversary speakers
Triangle offers a dedicated mounting kit for Comète 40th speakers. This system allows the speaker to be screwed directly onto the S05’s top plate. The entire assembly then becomes one solid unit, with decoupling occurring only at the base of the stand. This option will appeal to those who want to maximize mechanical rigidity between the speaker and its stand, or who are concerned about accidental tipping (children, pets).
