At 62 cm tall, this stand positions bookshelf speakers exactly where the tweeters need to be: at ear height when seated. The S05 uses a proven Triangle design, from the Picardy-based manufacturer located in Soissons since 1980: a central aluminium tube combined with a molded glass base and a non-slip top plate capable of supporting loads of up to 25 kg.
The central tube of the S05 is made of aluminium, a choice that combines mechanical rigidity with vibration damping. This column can be filled with fine sand or metal pellets (sold separately under the reference “Stand Filler”) to increase the stand’s inertia and reduce the transmission of resonances generated by the movement of the drivers.
The bottom plate is a glass panel molded at high temperature. The molding process gives the glass greater density and strength than ordinary glass.
Triangle supplies two sets of accessories to adapt the S05 to different floor coverings. The height-adjustable steel spikes are suitable for soft floors such as carpets or thick rugs: they pierce through the covering to anchor the stand directly to the hard surface underneath. The rubber feet are designed for hard floors (tiles, parquet, polished concrete) where spikes could scratch or slip. Protective discs are also included to safeguard delicate surfaces.
The total height varies slightly depending on the option chosen: 62 cm with rubber feet, 64 cm with metal spikes.
The speaker plate measures 18 cm wide and 29.5 cm deep. These dimensions accommodate most bookshelf speakers on the market, including compact models such as the Triangle Comète or Capella, as well as larger speakers from other manufacturers. The non-slip coating prevents any movement, even during dynamic passages at high volume.
A cable routing hole is integrated at the back of the tube. The speaker cables can thus run down inside the column and exit at the base, clearing the visual field and making system organisation easier.
Triangle offers a dedicated mounting kit for the Comète 40th speakers. This system allows you to screw the speaker directly to the top plate of the S05. The two then form a solid unit, with decoupling occurring only at the base of the stand. This option will appeal to those who want to maximise mechanical rigidity between the speaker and its stand, or who are concerned about accidental tipping (children, pets).
The dimensions of the plate (18 × 29.5 cm) and the 25 kg maximum load allow you to install the majority of bookshelf speakers on the market. The non-slip surface holds the speaker in place without any fixing. Only the screw-mount kit is reserved for the Comète 40th.
Fine sand fills gaps more thoroughly and adds extra damping thanks to friction between grains. Metal pellets (Triangle Stand Filler) provide greater mass for the same volume and pose no risk of moisture. Both options work; the choice mainly depends on what you have available or your personal preference.
On thick carpet or rugs, the spikes pierce the soft covering and stabilise the stand on the hard floor beneath. On tiles, parquet or concrete, the rubber feet prevent scratches and provide sufficient grip. If in doubt, try both configurations and keep the one that feels most stable.
The rear opening easily accommodates a pair of standard speaker cables. For very thick cables or multiple pairs, check the available space before installation.
A pair of S05 stands can support the side or rear surround speakers. The 62–64 cm height places the tweeters slightly above a seated listener’s ear, which aligns with recommendations for surround channels. For main front speakers, check that this height matches your setup.

Beautifully finished. The glass base plate looks very chic.
It comes with custom-made plastic bags you can fill with sand. This is recommended, as the stands themselves are not very heavy.
