Hisense PX3-PRO

Hisense PX3-Pro: an ultra-short throw 4K triple laser projector

The Hisense PX3-Pro is an ultra-short throw 4K laser projector, designed to deliver an immersive home cinema experience. Successor to the PX2-Pro model, it incorporates Hisense’s latest technological innovations in laser projection.

Innovative display technology

The PX3-Pro uses a 0.47” DLP chip with XPR x4 processing to project each detail of a UHD 4K image separately and at very high speed. While this is not native 4K, the illusion produced comes very close thanks to sharper edge definition, which more effectively differentiates light tones from dark tones, compared to LCD, D-iLA or SXRD technologies.

High brightness and contrast

With a brightness of 3,000 ANSI lumens, the PX3-Pro offers a 25% increase in brightness compared to its predecessor. This high brightness ensures that the projected image remains vivid and clear, even in well-lit environments. Additionally, the projector features a native contrast ratio of 3,000:1, allowing it to display deep blacks and brilliant whites for a more dynamic and immersive visual experience.

Ultra-short throw projection

The PX3-Pro’s ultra-short throw design allows it to project large images from a short distance, making it ideal for spaces where traditional projectors cannot fit. With a throw ratio of 0.23:1, the projector can display images ranging from 80 to 150 inches diagonally when placed just 12 to 46 cm from the projection surface.

Triple laser light source

At the heart of the PX3-Pro is Hisense’s innovative TriChroma triple laser technology. This RGB laser light source, combined with the company’s proprietary Laser Processing Unit (LPU), ensures exceptional color accuracy, a wide color gamut and high brightness. The triple laser system enables the projector to cover 110% of the BT.2020 color space, surpassing the capabilities of conventional projectors and delivering vibrant, realistic colors.

Wide HDR compatibility and advanced calibration

The PX3-Pro supports a wide range of HDR formats, including HDR10, HDR10+, HLG and Dolby Vision. It is part of the very exclusive club of devices compatible with all types of 4K content.

For precise calibration, Hisense provides advanced settings such as 2 or 20-point grayscale calibration, preset color temperatures, factory-calibrated gamma levels and a gamma editor. A comprehensive CMS allows fine-tuning of hue, brightness and color saturation. These options cater to both non-specialists and professional calibrators.

Advanced image processing

Hisense has equipped the PX3-Pro with “real-time Pro AI algorithms” that work to enhance brightness, refine contrast and reduce visual noise. These advanced image processing capabilities ensure that the projected image is always optimized for the best possible viewing experience.

Audio and connectivity

Integrated Harman Kardon audio system

The PX3-Pro features an integrated 50-watt Harman Kardon speaker system, a significant improvement over its predecessor’s 15W stereo speakers. This powerful audio system delivers clear, immersive sound, eliminating the need for external speakers in many cases. The projector also supports Dolby Atmos, enabling a more immersive audio experience when connected to compatible sound systems.

Smart features and ease of use

Smart TV features and connectivity

The PX3-Pro incorporates the exclusive Vidaa Smart TV function that provides access to major streaming services such as Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video or YouTube once connected to the Internet. It also integrates the Amazon Alexa voice assistant, a web browser, UPnP media gateway function (DLNA) and screen sharing.

In terms of connectivity, there are two HDMI 2.0 ports, one HDMI 2.1 input with eARC and ALLM compatibility, a composite input, stereo audio RCA and mini-jack outputs, an optical output, two USB ports and an Ethernet port. Note that the HDMI inputs are limited to 4K/60 and do not allow full exploitation of next-generation gaming consoles at 4K/120.

User-friendly features

The projector offers several user-friendly features that enhance its ease of use, such as:

• Automatic keystone correction
• Image adjustment settings
• Customizable picture modes
• Fine-tuning options for color and contrast

These features ensure that users can quickly and easily set up the projector and adjust the image to their preferences.
