Projeo EasyPull HD 106
Overview
Install a projection screen without electricity, without a remote control, and without drilling more than two holes: that’s the promise of a manual pull-down screen. The Projeo EasyPull HD 106 follows this proven formula in a 16:9 format with a 234 cm width, featuring a discreet metal housing and a matte white screen with unit gain. A simple, straightforward product focused on the essentials.
A matte white screen with a wide viewing angle
The projection surface of the EasyPull HD 106 is a classic matte white screen with a gain of 1. This type of screen reflects light evenly in all directions, with no hot spot or color shift. Projected colors remain faithful to the source signal, regardless of the projector used (long-throw).
The specified viewing angle is 170°. This is a high value, greater than the 160° found on several competing manual screens in this size category. In practical terms, this means that viewers seated at the sides of a wide room still retain an image with usable brightness and colors. For a living room where the sofa runs along a side wall, or for a meeting room with off-center seating, this wide angle is directly beneficial.
The native 16:9 format, with a usable surface of 234 × 131.6 cm (105.70-inch diagonal), matches the standard ratio of HD and 4K video content. Black borders frame the image: 30 mm on the sides and bottom, 250 mm at the top (this wider top border serves both as a masking area and a visual reference for framing).
Metal housing and clip mounting
The housing that contains the rolled-up screen measures 248.9 × 6.5 × 6.5 cm. It is made of white lacquered metal, giving it a neutral profile once mounted on a wall or ceiling. With a square cross-section of 6.5 cm per side, it remains discreet in most installation setups. The screen can be mounted on a wall, on a ceiling, or suspended.
The mounting system relies on clips, which speeds up installation: no complex hardware, no heavy wall mounting. Once the brackets are in place, the housing clips in. The weighting bar, 243.9 cm long, keeps the screen taut once unrolled.
Pull-down and automatic locking
The mechanism is entirely manual. You pull the weighting bar downward, and an automatic locking system keeps the screen at the desired position. To raise it, a slight pull releases the lock and the internal spring rewinds the screen smoothly. No motor, no power cable, no noise.
This operation rules out any home automation integration: it is impossible to control this screen via a remote control or a centralized system. This is a deliberate trade-off. In return, installation is quick, maintenance is virtually nonexistent, and the reliability of the spring mechanism is well established.
Three sizes in the EasyPull HD range
The 106 model is the largest in the range. Projeo offers two other versions in 16:9 with the same matte white screen: the EasyPull HD 77 (174 × 97.9 cm, 78.6-inch diagonal) and the EasyPull HD 87 (194 × 109.1 cm, 87.63-inch diagonal). The housing of the 77 model is slightly more compact (5.5 × 5.5 cm cross-section versus 6.5 × 6.5 cm for the two larger models). Screen material, gain, viewing angle, and control system remain identical from one model to another.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the EasyPull HD 106 compatible with short-throw or ultra-short-throw projectors?
No. The technical specifications indicate compatibility with long-throw projectors only. Short-throw or ultra-short-throw projectors project light at a very steep angle, which can reveal flatness defects in a non-tensioned screen. For these types of projectors, a fixed-frame tensioned screen or a motorized screen with a tensioning system is recommended.
What does a gain of 1 mean and why is it a good choice for versatile use?
A gain of 1 means the screen reflects light equally compared to a matte white reference surface. It does not concentrate light along a preferred axis and does not create a hot spot at the center of the image. It is the most neutral choice in terms of color reproduction. It suits the majority of home and professional installations where the room can be sufficiently darkened.
Can the screen be locked at an intermediate height?
Yes, the automatic locking system allows the screen to stop at the desired position while being pulled down. It is not an adjustment down to the exact centimeter, but the mechanism offers enough flexibility to adjust the image height as needed.
What throw distance should be planned with a long-throw projector for this 234 cm wide screen?
The distance depends on the throw ratio of the projector used. For a standard model with a 1.5:1 ratio, about 3.50 m is needed between the lens and the screen. With a 2:1 ratio, that distance increases to about 4.70 m. Check your projector’s technical specifications to determine the exact distance.
Does the 250 mm top black border have a specific function?
This black band at the top of the screen serves as a buffer zone between the housing and the usable projection surface. It absorbs stray light that could be reflected by the housing or the wall, and it makes vertical framing of the projected image easier. Its 25 cm width provides a comfortable margin for projectors whose vertical offset (lens shift) is limited.
