Frequently Asked Questions

Does the DP-UB820AFK play SACDs and DVD-Audios?

No. These two physical audio formats are not on its compatibility list. It does, however, play audio CDs and a wide range of high-resolution files from a USB drive, hard drive, or network.

Does the player have a coaxial audio output?

It features an optical digital output, but no coaxial output. For analog connection, the 7.1-channel RCA output and the stereo output allow you to connect an amplifier that lacks an HDMI input.

Does voice control work without a connected speaker?

No, it goes through a speaker or a compatible Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant device. Without this relay, control is done with the included remote control.

Can both HDMI outputs stream video and audio simultaneously?

Yes, depending on the output mode selected in the settings. The video output can carry both picture and sound, while the dedicated audio output feeds the amplifier. This setting is mainly used to separate the streams when the amplifier does not support the latest video signals.

Does the player support 3D Blu-ray?

Yes, it plays Full HD 3D Blu-ray discs as well as AVCHD 3D files. A 3D-compatible TV or projector is still required to enjoy them.

Is an internet connection essential for operation?

No, not for disc playback, which does not depend on any network. The wired or Wi-Fi connection is used for video streaming, the BD-Live feature on certain Blu-rays, DLNA playback on the local network, and firmware updates.

What equipment do you need to fully enjoy 4K HDR?

A 4K HDR-compatible TV or projector, Ultra HD Blu-ray discs, and a high-speed HDMI cable. The dual HDMI output also allows you to route audio to a separate amplifier from the screen, which remains optional for a simple setup.
