Installing four cinema seats in an average-sized room means accounting for every centimeter, both in front of and behind the row. Here, the backrest reclines without moving backward, allowing the seats to be placed directly against the rear wall. Each seat has its own motor and remote control. The velvet upholstery withstands heavy daily use, and flat-pack delivery makes it easier to get the components through doorways and up stairs.

A row that can be placed against the rear wall

On a conventional reclining chair, the backrest tilts backward and requires several dozen centimeters of clearance behind it. The ONE works differently: the seat moves forward while the backrest reclines within the chair. This means the row can sit flush against the wall, freeing up that depth for the screen, speakers or viewing distance. When closed, the chair measures 100 cm deep and 105 cm high. When open, the depth reaches 170 cm. You therefore need to leave 70 cm clear in front of the row, in addition to room to walk past. The total width is 311 cm. These height and depth dimensions are the same as those of the brand’s POP model.

Each seat uses a single motor, which controls both the reclining backrest and the extending leg rest. A single button is all it takes to move from a seated to a reclined position. The trade-off is that you cannot raise your legs while keeping the backrest upright, since the two movements are linked.

Four seats, five armrests and a row that can be expanded

The row consists of four seats, each 57 cm wide, arranged between five armrests measuring 16.5 cm wide, 100 cm deep and 64.5 cm high. Each viewer therefore has an armrest on either side. The components arrive separately and are assembled on site. This modular construction also allows the row to be expanded later: to go from four seats to five, simply add a seat and an armrest.

Each seat has its own remote control, so everyone can adjust their position without disturbing their neighbor. The equipment also includes a USB-C port for charging a phone during the movie and a Pop Corn cup holder, whose name suggests its purpose.

Okoumé plywood, solid beech and welded steel

The seat frame is made from 30 mm thick okoumé plywood. The backrest frame and supporting chassis use the same wood in a 15 mm thickness, reinforced with a solid beech crosspiece. Okoumé is a lightweight, stable wood, which keeps the weight of each component reasonable. The reclining mechanism is made from welded steel, meaning steel parts joined by welding rather than screws, which limits play developing in the structure over time.

The padding varies according to the area of the body. The seat uses 43 kg/m³ high-resilience (HR) foam, a high density that retains its shape and resists compression over time. The backrest uses softer, 26 kg/m³ HR foam that conforms more closely to the back. The armrests are padded with 24 kg/m³ polyether foam. All these foams carry the CertiPUR label.

Seven velvet that withstands repeated movie sessions

The Seven upholstery is a knitted velvet with a 100% polyester face and a backing made from 90% polyester and 10% cotton, with a weight of 420 g/ml. Its wear resistance has been measured using the Martindale test: a disc continuously rubs the fabric until it wears out. Seven exceeds 100,000 cycles, a typical value for fabrics used in public spaces. After 2,000 rubs, it achieves a pilling rating of 4-5 out of 5, meaning it forms very few small balls of fiber on the surface.

The fabric is treated to repel water and resist moisture and stains. A spilled drink beads on the surface instead of soaking in immediately, giving you time to wipe it off. Its colorfastness to light is rated 4 for light shades and 4-5 for medium and dark shades. In a dark room, this poses no problem. In a living room exposed to direct sunlight, a dark shade will retain its color better over time. The fabric complies with the REACH regulation and contains no dimethyl fumarate.
