Auris Audio is a Serbian manufacturer founded in 2013 by Milomir Trosic, hand-building tube amplifiers, headphone amplifiers, turntables and tonearms. Solid wood, stitched leather, machined aluminium: the devices are recognisable at first glance, but the work is primarily electronic. The brand built its reputation on headphone amplification, with the Headonia as its reference model, before expanding its catalogue into analogue. A telling detail: its headphone amps feature an output impedance selector, ranging from a few dozen to 600 ohms, to match the transformer to the headphones used. Single-ended triode designs deliver a full midrange and wide soundstage, at the cost of a few watts of power that requires sensitive speakers; Class A/AB push-pull designs accommodate more conventional loads.
