Built-in Wi-Fi and Wireless Direct for Simplified Connectivity

The built-in Wi-Fi function allows you to establish a wireless connection to your router or box, greatly simplifying the connection of the system to the network and the use of various audio streaming services. If no Wi-Fi router is available, the Wireless Direct function will not only allow you to stream your music directly from your smartphone or tablet via AirPlay or MusicPlay, but also to control your amplifier using the AV Controller app.

Network Functions

This amplifier offers a range of network functions that facilitate its use and allow access to additional sources. You can connect the amplifier to a computer to listen to web radios, Spotify, Pandora, and control your system via Web Browser Control. The AV Controller app (available on the iTunes AppStore and Android Market) allows you to control various functions of the amplifier from an iPod, iPhone, iPad or Android Smartphone/Tablet.

YPAO Volume: Increased Fidelity at Low Volumes

Human hearing is subject to different sensitivities depending on frequencies, especially when listening at low volumes. The YPAO Volume function applies loudness equalization correction to automatically adjust the levels of high and low frequencies when changing volume. Following the YPAO calibration results, the equalization correction is optimized to match the new listening conditions.

Virtual CINEMA FRONT: Superb High-Resolution Virtual 5.1 Sound

For installations subject to space constraints, Yamaha’s Virtual CINEMA FRONT technology allows you to enjoy a stunning virtual Surround field using only front speakers in the listening area. This exclusive Yamaha technology relies on the use of two Surround speakers and a center speaker placed at the front for a high-resolution 5-channel Surround field, with incredible virtual reproduction of the rear channels.
