For easy immersive 3D sound, the SR6011 has 9-channel amplification, which means you can set up a 7.1.2 or 5.1.4 3D experience without needing an external amplifier. Using an external amplifier, the setup can be expanded to 7.1.4 as the SR6011 supports 11.2 channel processing. If not being used for 3D audio, the built-in amplifiers can be assigned to power another pair of speakers in a second audio zone playing a different source than the main room.

The SR6011 AV receiver features very high quality audio components that have been carefully selected. The internal circuitry also enhances audio quality by gently processing all signals via Marantz’s HDAM (Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module) modules, in a current feedback topology before being passed to the power amp stage to drive the connected speakers.
The powerful amplifier section features identical high-current output circuits on all 9 channels, each configured identically. With 185 watts per channel, the SR6011 is able to drive low impedance (4 ohm) speakers on all channels.

Compared to the amp, the sound seems "too soft" compared to my old Pioneer.

Despite its very good quality, I find that it heats up a bit and its remote control is not sensitive enough.
