Cambridge Audio CXUHD

The CXUHD supports playback of 4K UHD Blu-ray discs and is capable of playing videos at a resolution up to 3840 x 2160, which is four times more pixels than a standard HD Blu-ray. Other 4K files can also be played, thanks to HEVC H.265, H.264, VP9 4K and Hi10P video decoding for better compatibility with user-generated content. HDR (High Dynamic Range) imaging is also supported with an HDR television, to expand the range of contrast and brightness and display an exceptionally realistic image. It has been calibrated by professionals to optimize the dynamic range between black and white tones, and to provide natural colors and smooth image transitions. For compatibility purposes, a conversion is also available for older monitors that use SDR (Standard Dynamic Range) technology.

Dolby Vision technology transforms your home cinema experience by delivering stunning bright areas, 68 billion colors, and intensely deep shadows never before seen on conventional TV screens. Through intelligent use of metadata, Dolby Vision enhances your TV’s performance on every image. With two USB 3.0 ports for playing various files, the CXUHD can play a wide range of videos, audio files and images from USB drives and hard drives, including HEVC, H.264, VP9 4K and Hi10P video formats. You can also use the built-in 802.11ac Wi-Fi or Gigabit Ethernet to connect the unit to your network, easily accessing files on your computers, laptops, network storage servers and local servers. Its universal compatibility also allows playback of multiple disc formats, including Blu-ray, 3D Blu-ray, DVD, DVD-Audio, SACD, and audio CDs.

A custom quad-core video decoder leverages our expertise in advanced video decoding, processing and optimization. The balanced, high-precision laser optical disc loader ensures smooth, reliable playback no matter the disc. Its mechanism offers ultra-fast loading with error detection and correction. We removed the internal DAC to minimize signal interference and improve quality by reducing noise on videos. The unit therefore serves as a transport. It also seamlessly integrates with existing CX and home theater setups with its sleek finishes and brushed aluminum front panel.
