BenQ W5800 Laser Projector Presentation

The BenQ W5800 is a 4K UHD laser projector designed to deliver an immersive home cinema experience. It uses a 0.47-inch DLP DMD chip with a native resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, but thanks to XPR x4 technology, it can produce a UHD image of 3840x2160 pixels. This technology leverages the chip’s fast switching speed to effectively multiply pixels, allowing for detailed 4K images without the process being visible to the naked eye. The projector offers a brightness of 2600 ANSI lumens, ensuring clear images and vibrant colors, even in environments with some ambient light.

CinematicColor Technology

BenQ’s exclusive CinematicColor technology enables the W5800 to achieve 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space and 100% of Rec.709. This wide color gamut, combined with a high contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1 thanks to Dynamic Black technology, delivers stunningly realistic images with deep blacks and vibrant hues. The projector is also factory-calibrated to ensure color accuracy with Delta E <1 right out of the box.

HDR-PRO and HDR10+ Support

The W5800 incorporates BenQ’s HDR-PRO technology, which enhances the HDR viewing experience using a two-step tone mapping process. This technology optimizes the balance between bright and dark scenes, providing more detail and depth to the image. Additionally, the projector supports HDR10+, which adds dynamic metadata to HDR10 content, allowing for frame-by-frame optimization and further enhancing HDR performance.

Flexible Installation and Connectivity

Lens Shift and Zoom

The BenQ W5800 offers a range of installation options to suit various room configurations. It features a motorized 1.6x zoom lens, allowing for flexible projector placement. The projector also includes vertical (+/-50%) and horizontal (+/-21%) lens shift, enabling users to achieve a perfectly aligned image without moving the projector.

Wide Array of Inputs

The W5800 provides a comprehensive set of connectivity options. It includes two HDMI 2.0b ports (HDCP 2.2 compatible), one of which supports eARC for seamless integration with audio systems. The projector also features two USB Type-A ports, an RS-232 port for control systems, and a 12V trigger for motorized screens. An optical S/PDIF audio output and a LAN port complete the connectivity options.
