Tonewinner AT-2700: 7-channel Dolby Atmos home-cinema amplifier
Seven amplification channels, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X decoding, built-in acoustic calibration: the AT-2700 brings together the functions of a complete home-cinema system in a compact format. Tonewinner, a Chinese manufacturer active since 1992 in the design of audio electronics (notably as an OEM for other brands), here offers an integrated amp capable of directly driving a 5.1.2 or 5.3.2 setup without external amplification.
Amplification and signal processing
The AT-2700 delivers 120 W per channel into 8 Ω (200 W into 4 Ω), enough headroom to power floorstanding speakers or compact satellites. Digital processing is handled by an Analog Devices ADSP-21573 SHARC dual-core DSP, in charge of Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, DTS:X and DTS Virtual:X decoding. Analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversion is provided by two Cirrus Logic CS42528 chips, components commonly used in mid- and high-range AV receivers for their low distortion and wide dynamic range.
DTS Virtual:X technology makes it possible to simulate a height effect using traditional speakers, which can be handy when no ceiling speakers are available, even if the result remains less precise than a real physical Atmos configuration.
ETQ calibration and parametric equalization
The Easy Test EQ (ETQ) system, developed by Tonewinner, automates the acoustic tuning of the room. With a measurement microphone (sold separately), the unit analyzes the frequency response of each speaker, measures distances and adjusts levels, delays and tone. The result is displayed as a curve in the OSD menu overlaid on the television image, allowing you to visualize the corrections applied.
To go further, the AT-2700 offers per-channel parametric equalization. The front channels provide 11 adjustable bands, while the surround, height and subwoofer channels each benefit from 5 bands. This degree of adjustment makes it possible to correct localized resonances or tailor the sound signature to your preferences. Several profiles can be stored and associated with different inputs.
Video section and HDMI connectivity
Video processing is handled by a Panasonic MN864788 chip, compatible with 4K/60 Hz in RGB 4:4:4 and YUV 4:4:4. The unit supports HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision streams on its four HDMI 2.1 inputs (HDCP 2.2). The two HDMI outputs allow you to connect a television and a projector simultaneously; one of them handles eARC to retrieve the audio track from the TV’s built-in apps.
3D compatibility is maintained for users who still have 3D projectors or TVs. However, HDMI bandwidth tops out at 18 Gb/s, which rules out 4K/120 Hz or 8K signals: a point to consider for gamers with latest-generation consoles.
Audio connectivity and pre-out outputs
Beyond HDMI, the AT-2700 accepts three analog sources via stereo RCA inputs, plus one optical and one coaxial input for digital sources (CD player, TV box). The USB-A port and microSD card reader allow playback of audio files without an external source: FLAC, APE, WAV, MP3 and WMA are supported, with up to 128 GB of storage.
The 7.3-channel pre-out output opens the door to external amplification if the built-in power is not enough or if you want to upgrade the system. The three independent subwoofer outputs allow the use of multiple subwoofers to smooth low-frequency response in the room, a configuration appreciated in dedicated theaters.
Bluetooth and remote control
The built-in Bluetooth receiver ensures wireless streaming from a smartphone or tablet. The stated range is up to 15 meters, and automatic reconnection avoids having to re-pair the device each time you use it. The Tonewinner mobile app provides access to settings, navigation through files stored on a USB drive or SD card, and volume control. The graphical interface handles up to 8 folder levels, making it easier to organize large music libraries.
A 12 V trigger output can automatically power on a power amplifier or a screen lift system. The infrared input allows integration into a centralized control system.

Frequently asked questions
Is a measurement microphone supplied with the AT-2700?
No, the ETQ calibration microphone (reference T-2 or ETM-2) is sold separately. It is essential to benefit from automatic calibration. Without a microphone, distance, level and EQ settings must be carried out manually.
Can the AT-2700 be used in a classic 7.1 setup without ceiling speakers?
Yes. The unit supports 2.0, 2.1, 5.1 and 7.1 configurations as well as Atmos 5.1.2 and 5.3.2 modes. The setup menu lets you assign channels according to the speakers available. The DTS Virtual:X function can simulate a vertical effect even without height speakers.
Is the AT-2700 compatible with game consoles in 4K/120 Hz?
No. HDMI bandwidth is limited to 18 Gb/s, which allows 4K at 60 Hz but not 4K at 120 Hz. The VRR and ALLM functions, valued by gamers, are not mentioned in the specifications.
How many EQ profiles can be saved?
The AT-2700 lets you store independent EQ settings for each input. Each profile saves the parametric curves of the different channels, allowing setups tailored to different uses (movies, music, games) or multiple listening positions.
Does the mobile app work on iOS and Android?
Yes, the Tonewinner app is available on both platforms. It allows you to control the volume, select sources, browse audio files and access the unit’s settings via the local network.
Can an external power amplifier be connected?
Yes. The 7.3-channel pre-out output allows you to use the AT-2700 as a preamp and processor, delegating amplification to an external power amp. This setup can be useful for very demanding speakers or to upgrade the system gradually.
