Élysium Screens Edge|One PureView 150"

Overview

A 150-inch screen occupies a visual area of 3.3 meters by nearly 1.9 meters. It’s massive. Yet Élysium Screens’ Edge|One manages to make you forget it’s there when you’re not using it, thanks to a frame that almost disappears. At less than one centimeter thick with black beveled edges, the whole thing looks more like a picture window into a dark room than a conventional audiovisual device.

An invisible frame working behind the scenes

The Edge|One does away with the thick frames that usually give projection screens away. The 10 mm rigid aluminum profile surrounds the image without competing with it: you watch the film, not the frame. The black beveled edges are not just aesthetic. They absorb light that slightly spills beyond the projected image and enhance perceived contrast by creating a clear visual boundary between the screen material and the surrounding wall.

This thinness implies technical trade-offs that the Edge|One resolves through its tensioned structure. Springs keep the screen material under constant tension: no ripples, no warping over time. Flatness remains stable even after several years of use. The total weight of 14 kg remains manageable for one person during initial positioning.

PureView screen material: versatility over specialization

The PureView screen material is a white PVC surface with a gain of 1.1. This figure means the screen reflects slightly more light than a perfectly diffusing reference surface (gain 1.0). The benefit is subtle but real: a slightly brighter image at the center without sacrificing viewing angle.

A gain of 1.1 corresponds to the most balanced choice for general-purpose use. High-gain screen materials (1.3, 1.5 or more) concentrate light toward the center and reduce the angle from which the image remains uniform. Ambient light rejecting (ALR) screen materials are specialized for rooms that cannot be fully darkened but make projector placement more complicated. PureView avoids these constraints: it works with all types of projectors, regardless of throw distance, and is equally suitable for cinema, video games, or presentations.

Élysium offers four other screen materials as options for specific uses. This modularity makes it possible to start with PureView and change later if needs evolve.

Wall installation in under half an hour

The spring-mounting system simplifies horizontal adjustment. Once the wall brackets are fixed, the screen can be adjusted laterally without taking the whole thing down. The illustrated manual guides assembly step by step. Élysium states less than 30 minutes for a complete installation, tools included. The 16:9 format matches the current standard for video content, series, and most games.

The overall dimensions (3341 × 1888 mm) add only 20 mm around the image. On a living room wall, the difference between usable surface and actual footprint is negligible. Flat storage is required before assembly, which calls for suitable reception space at delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the PureView screen material suitable for laser projectors?

Laser, LED, or lamp projectors all work with this screen material. The 1.1 gain and the white diffusing surface impose no restrictions on the projector’s light source technology.

Does the spring system create audible vibrations?

The springs provide tension for the screen material, not wall mounting. They do not produce vibration or resonance during audio playback, even at high volume.

Do you need a perfectly flat wall for installation?

A generally flat wall is sufficient. The spring-mounting system offers tolerance for slight irregularities. Defects greater than a few millimeters may require shims for adjustment.

What viewing distance is recommended for a 150-inch screen?

A distance between 4 and 5 meters allows comfortable viewing without excessive eye movement. This value also depends on personal preferences and the resolution of the projector used.

Are the other screen materials offered by Élysium compatible with this frame?

The five screen material models in the range are designed for the same Edge|One mounting system. Changing the screen material requires partial disassembly but remains achievable without specialized tools.
