Just like the proven Cherry Cola 18, Root Beer 18 is an active optical cable that delivers exceptional audio/video performance over distances up to 30 meters.

Compared to AudioQuest’s all-metal HDMI cables, the two optical models may seem more similar than they are. They suffer no loss over length and both feature galvanic isolation, earning them the Level-4 Noise-Dissipation rating. As with Toslink and other optical cables, the fiber optics pick up and transmit no induced RF noise.

Although eARC functionality is often unnecessary for powering a projector, AudioQuest always takes every connection seriously. Root Beer includes Pearl-level eARC conductors.

Galvanic isolation is always a benefit. Additionally, variations in the connected source’s electronics or the monitor or projector, as well as ambient RF noise, sometimes give optical cables an even more surprising advantage.
