Overview

The CDt-XR is designed as a reference CD transport, building on the legacy of the CDt and CD XT Signature models, but incorporating many new technologies developed in-house at Cyrus over recent years. Housed in an iconic half-width chassis, the CDt-XR sits above the existing CDi and CDt models, offering a substantial performance upgrade. Listeners will notice a dramatic reduction in background noise, bringing enhanced clarity and nuanced detail, thanks to significant design improvements in many areas, all while retaining the signature “Cyrus sound.”

Internal Power Supply

The CDt-XR, like all products in the XR series, has undergone a complete redesign of the power supplies for each circuit section. The power supplies are much more rigid and have allowed Cyrus engineers to run the remarkable SE engine even more quietly.

Containing Noise

Upgraded components as well as intelligently designed circuits using “counter-flow” methodologies to reduce noise pickup are showcased throughout the design.

The fundamental principle is that power starts at the “quietest” part of the circuit before flowing to the “noisier” sections. Less noise is thus “carried” or induced into the power paths, limiting noise transmission within the product. While this seems logical, the application in practice is incredibly complex and must be considered at a system level. Even the geometric alignment of individual components has been optimized to facilitate the cleanest possible power and musical signal flow.
