Paradigm Persona 3F (pack of 2)
Overview
The Paradigm Persona 3F brings together exceptional materials and proprietary technologies usually reserved for much more expensive models. Entirely designed and manufactured in Canada, it delivers a level of detail and transparency that defies its entry-level status within the Persona series.
An Exceptional Material at the Heart of the Design
The use of 99.9% pure Truextent beryllium for the midrange and tweeter drivers is the technical hallmark of this speaker. This rare metal, used since the 1970s in the most demanding audio industries, boasts remarkable physical properties: exponentially greater rigidity than aluminum or titanium, combined with a significantly lower mass.
This unique combination allows beryllium to push its resonance frequencies far beyond the speakers’ bandwidth, thereby eliminating audible colorations. The precisely controlled Truextent manufacturing process produces an ultra-uniform granular beryllium sheet, ensuring superior transient response and near-total transparency.
The Persona 3F stands out as the only speaker in its class to use this precious material for both the 25 mm tweeter and the 178 mm midrange driver—a technical feature generally limited to systems costing several times its price.
Proprietary Technologies and Acoustic Innovations
The PPA (Perforated Phase-Aligning) lenses that cap the beryllium drivers are more than just an aesthetic element. These grilles, with their organically spiraled patterns calculated by computer modeling, selectively block out-of-phase information generated by different areas of the diaphragm. This approach goes beyond the limitations of traditional phase domes by addressing the entire radiating surface.
The SHOCK-MOUNT system mechanically isolates each driver from the cabinet using butyl rubber gaskets and inserts, eliminating the transmission of unwanted vibrations. This technology, applied to all drivers, preserves the purity of the acoustic signal.
The two 178 mm X-PAL bass drivers feature ART (Active Ridge Technology), where the surrounds are directly overmolded onto the cones made of injection-molded thermoplastic elastomer. This proprietary method allows for 50% greater excursion than conventional surrounds, resulting in a 3 dB gain in maximum output without distortion.
Refined Architecture and Construction
The cabinetry reveals a scientific approach to resonance control. The cabinet features an elliptical cross-section with no parallel surfaces, eliminating internal standing waves. Construction begins with seven layers of HDF panels and viscoelastic adhesive, assembled and then cured by radio frequency energy for maximum rigidity.
The internal chambers are rigorously partitioned and damped, with each driver benefiting from its own optimized volume. The 3rd-order electro-acoustic crossover operates at 450 Hz between bass and midrange, and at 2.4 kHz between midrange and treble, ensuring perfect coherence between the drivers.
Acoustic Performance and Compatibility
With an in-room sensitivity of 92 dB and a frequency response extending from 48 Hz to 45 kHz (±2 dB), the Persona 3F offers remarkable dynamic range. Its bass extension reaches down to 24 Hz, a notable achievement for a floorstander of this size. The 8-ohm compatible impedance makes it easy to pair with a wide range of amplifiers, from 15 to 400 watts.
Exceptional dispersion maintains tonal balance up to 30° off-axis, creating a wide listening area. This feature, combined with the neutrality of beryllium, allows the speaker to literally “disappear” acoustically, leaving only the music.
Finishes and Customization
This floorstanding speaker is available in four standard finishes: the glossy Vanta Black and Harmony White, as well as the metallic Aria Blue and Sonic Silver. Paradigm’s Design Studio program expands these options with 18 additional premium finishes and customization of metal elements, grilles, and binding posts.
Each 34 kg speaker boasts a flawless finish, a testament to Canadian craftsmanship. The 112 cm height integrates naturally into contemporary interiors, with the elliptical shape visually slimming the silhouette.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is beryllium considered the ultimate material for loudspeakers?
Beryllium combines exceptional rigidity with very low mass, pushing its natural resonances far beyond audible frequencies. This property eliminates the colorations typical of other metallic materials, offering unmatched transparency and precision. Its rarity and high implementation cost explain why it has traditionally been reserved for ultra high-end speakers.
What exactly do the PPA, ART, and SHOCK-MOUNT technologies mean?
PPA (Perforated Phase-Aligning) lenses use precisely calculated perforations to block out-of-phase acoustic information, improving temporal coherence. ART (Active Ridge Technology) involves surrounds overmolded directly onto the cones, allowing for increased excursion. The SHOCK-MOUNT system isolates each driver with special gaskets, eliminating unwanted vibrations transmitted to the cabinet.
How does the 3F differ from the higher models in the Persona series?
The 3F shares the same beryllium drivers and core technologies as its larger siblings. The differences lie in the number of bass drivers (2 versus 3 or 4), cabinet size, and bass extension. The 5F, 7F, and 9H models offer more power and depth, but the 3F retains the essential Persona sonic signature.
What customization options are available through the Design Studio?
The Design Studio program offers a total of 22 finishes: 4 standard and 18 premium, including unique colors like saffron yellow or amethyst purple. Customization extends to the grilles (black, silver, slate), metal elements, and binding posts. This approach allows you to create a unique Persona, perfectly integrated with your listening space’s aesthetic.
