Frequently Asked Questions

Do the NS-3000 need a subwoofer?

It depends on the repertoire and room size. Extension down to 39 Hz covers the fundamentals of most acoustic instruments, but organ, electronic music, or home cinema enthusiasts will appreciate adding a subwoofer to reproduce infra-bass below 30 Hz. A high-pass filter at 80 Hz will also ease the amplifier’s load on dynamic passages.

What type of amplifier suits the NS-3000?

The 4.6 Ω minimum impedance and 87 dB sensitivity call for an amplifier capable of delivering stable current. Plan on at least 50 watts per channel, ideally 100 watts for dynamic headroom. Japanese solid-state amplification or sufficiently powerful tube amplifiers pair well with their neutral character.

What’s the difference from the NS-5000?

The NS-5000 are three-way speakers with a dedicated 8 cm midrange, whereas the NS-3000 operate as two-way. The 30 mm ZYLON tweeter is identical, but the NS-5000 woofer measures 30 cm versus 16 cm on the NS-3000. The NS-5000 reach lower in frequency (28 Hz) and offer greater dynamics, while the NS-3000 retain the range’s tonal coherence in a more compact format.
