Samsung TQ48S92H 2026

Succeeding the S90F is no mere formality: Samsung had to justify the move from one generation to the next with more than just a letter change in the model number. The S92H manages that with three concrete arguments, all borrowed from the higher-end 2025 S95F range. The Glare-Free anti-reflection treatment, a 60 W 2.1.2-channel audio system, and 165 Hz refresh rate are making their debut in Samsung’s mid-range OLED lineup, in a 48-inch (122 cm) format that remains one of the few available on the market.

A WOLED panel certified by VDE and Pantone

The TQ48S92H uses a White OLED panel supplied by LG Display, as was the case for its 48-inch predecessor. The 8.3 million self-emissive pixels produce absolute black (no backlight to switch off, no light leakage), and peak brightness is stated at around 1,100 nits in a 10% APL window, with about 280 nits full screen (100% APL). Samsung has obtained two certifications for this panel: “Real Black” from the VDE laboratory (black level less than or equal to 0.005 nit in a dark room, gray discrimination with an average Delta E 2000 less than or equal to 5 up to 500 lux) and “Real Color” from Pantone, which validates the fidelity of 2,140 colors and 110 skin tones.

The Glare-Free surface treatment is the most visible new feature. On the S90F, the glossy screen picked up reflections from windows and lighting fixtures, a flaw that could spoil daytime viewing in an open-plan living room. The S92H uses the matte coating from the S95 range, certified “Glare Free” by UL Solutions according to the UGR (Unified Glare Rating) method of the International Commission on Illumination. In practice, surrounding light sources no longer reflect off the panel, even if the usual trade-off of anti-reflection filters remains: a slight loss of perceived black depth in a very dark room compared with a glossy screen without a filter.

The NQ4 AI Gen3 processor and its 128 deep learning modules

The processor is the same NQ4 AI Gen3 as in the S90F, at least in name. Samsung states 128 Deep Learning modules, meaning a neural network that refines its image-processing algorithms without human intervention, starting from degraded display quality to reconstruct optimal quality. AI processing operates on several levels: 4K upscaling (4K AI Upscaling Pro), automatic HDR optimization (Auto HDR Remastering Pro, which adds tone mapping to SDR content), Color Booster Pro for expanding color volume, and an AI auto-adjustment mode that adapts picture settings to the detected content.

On the HDR side, the TV supports HDR10+ and HLG, with the Adaptive, Gaming, and Advanced variants of HDR10+. Dolby Vision is still absent, as across Samsung’s entire range. It is an ecosystem choice: Samsung has favored HDR10+ for several years. For Netflix, Disney+, or Apple TV+ content, which often offers Dolby Vision, the TV relies on standard HDR10 or HDR10+ when available.

60 W in 2.1.2 channels: audio steps up

The audio leap between the 48-inch S90F and the 48-inch S92H is significant. The S90F featured a 40 W 2.1-channel system with OTS Lite (simplified Object Tracking Sound) processing. The S92H moves up to 60 W distributed across 2.1.2 channels: two 10 W front speakers, one 20 W woofer, and two 10 W upward-firing speakers. This 2.1.2 configuration adds a vertical component to the sound output, useful for wireless Dolby Atmos playback (the Dolby Atmos connection here works wirelessly to a compatible Samsung soundbar; the TV alone does not produce true spatial Atmos rendering). Full OTS (rather than Lite) tracks the movement of sound objects on screen, while Adaptive Sound Pro adjusts playback based on content type and room acoustics. Active Voice Amplifier Pro, meanwhile, enhances dialogue clarity when ambient noise is detected by the remote control’s microphone.

Two simultaneous Bluetooth connections are possible: you can pair headphones and a speaker, or two headphones, without needing a splitter. Samsung’s Q-Symphony feature synchronizes the TV’s speakers with those of a compatible soundbar, rather than disabling one in favor of the other.

A complete gaming package up to 165 Hz

The panel’s native refresh rate is 100 Hz, but VRR (variable refresh rate) goes up to 165 Hz via Motion Xcelerator technology. All four HDMI ports support 4K at 165 Hz, eliminating the “right port” limitation found on some competing models. The S90F topped out at 144 Hz; the extra 21 Hz will mainly interest PC gamers whose graphics card regularly reaches that range.

VRR compatibility includes AMD FreeSync Premium Pro (rather than the FreeSync Premium on the 48-inch S90F, with the Pro version adding HDR support in variable refresh rate gaming) and NVIDIA G-Sync compatibility. ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) automatically switches to game mode as soon as a console or PC is detected. Samsung also keeps Gaming Hub (access to cloud gaming services such as GeForce Now or Xbox Cloud Gaming), the game bar with on-screen parameter display, Mini Map Zoom to enlarge a portion of the screen, and Hue Sync mode to synchronize Philips Hue lighting with the displayed content.

Vision AI Companion and Tizen OS

The S92H integrates Vision AI Companion, Samsung’s AI assistant that brings together several functions: content recommendations based on viewing habits, automatic picture and sound optimization according to the analyzed scene, and instant subtitle translation in six languages (Live Translate). The voice assistant is based on Bixby and Alexa, usable via the microphone built into the remote control.

The Tizen operating system provides access to French operator apps (B.TV+, Orange TV, Free TV, SFR TV), the usual streaming platforms, and the conversational AI apps Copilot and Perplexity. Mirroring is bidirectional (from the TV to a Samsung mobile device, or the other way around), AirPlay is supported for the Apple ecosystem, and Multi View allows two sources to be displayed simultaneously. Samsung guarantees seven years of software updates for Tizen and seven years of spare parts availability. System security is based on Knox.

One point to note: this model includes neither the Art Store nor the AI-generated wallpaper function, reserved for higher-end series or Lifestyle models (The Frame).

A slim profile in Space Titan finish

The TQ48S92H measures 1,069 x 620 x 39.6 mm without the stand, for a weight of 10.6 kg. The Space Titan finish (a metallic gray) replaces the black of the S90F. The central Simple Plus Blade stand stabilizes the TV on furniture at least 37 cm deep (265.2 mm stand depth). There is no external One Connect box on the S92H; the connections are integrated into the chassis. Samsung offers an optional Slim Fit Wall Mount that places the panel flush against the wall, taking advantage of the very thin bezel for an almost flush finish. The VESA standard is 300 x 200 mm.

Connectivity includes four HDMI 2.1 ports (including one eARC), two USB-A ports, one Ethernet port, one optical audio output, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3. On the reception side, a dual DVB-T2/C/S2 tuner, a satellite input, and a CI+ 1.4 slot (Fransat compatible) cover terrestrial TV, cable, and satellite.
