Loewe Antares 65
Overview
A television that changes its appearance to suit the room it lives in: that is Loewe’s ambition with this 65-inch OLED panel assembled in Kronach. Interchangeable aluminum trims, a wide choice of stands and mounts, a silhouette borrowed from widescreen monitors: the German manufacturer focuses as much on customization as on picture quality. Behind the care taken with the object lie a individually calibrated 4K panel and HDMI 2.1 inputs capable of displaying video games at 144 Hz.
An object tailored to your interior
Loewe designed the Antares as a widescreen monitor rather than a conventional television, with a horizontal silhouette and a chassis measuring 5.4 cm thick because it combines the electronics and speakers in a single block. It is not the thinnest panel on the market, and this deliberately chosen format serves the rest of the project.
The aluminum trims bordering the top and bottom of the screen can be removed and replaced. Two finishes, brushed aluminum and black, are supplied; other colors can be ordered separately as accessories. The back can also be dressed with a fabric cover and cables concealed thanks to integrated routing. As for installation, the catalog is extensive: a swiveling brushed aluminum tabletop stand adjustable to three heights, floor stands including some motorized models that rotate the screen at the press of a button, a floor-to-ceiling mount, and three types of wall mount. Design, development and assembly take place in Germany.
OLED panels calibrated one by one
Each LTY OLED module is produced in Kronach and individually adjusted at the factory before shipping. OLED technology illuminates each pixel separately, delivering truly switched-off blacks and contrast with no fixed limit, whereas backlighting always lets some light through.
Resolution is 3840 x 2160 pixels across 65 inches (164 cm). The stated peak brightness reaches 1500 nits, a figure that matters mainly in HDR and bright rooms, two areas where OLED has long lagged behind despite its mastery of blacks. The main HDR formats are supported: Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+, HDR10 and HLG. Dolby Vision IQ mode adjusts the picture to the room’s ambient light, useful both during the day and in the evening. Image processing is based on the Loewe SL8 chassis and uses AI-assisted algorithms.
4K gaming at 144 Hz
The television has four HDMI inputs, including two with the full HDMI 2.1 standard: these accept a 4K signal up to 144 Hz. It also includes VRR, which synchronizes the display with the graphics card or console to eliminate screen tearing, ALLM, which automatically switches to low-latency game mode, and QMS, which prevents a black screen when changing refresh rates. A dedicated game mode supports recent consoles and cloud gaming. With two compatible ports, you can connect two high-performance machines simultaneously while keeping the other inputs for conventional sources.
os9, streaming and recording
The Loewe os9 system is based on the VIDAA platform and provides access to the usual apps: Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV+, YouTube and Spotify. Wireless streaming is handled by Apple AirPlay and Miracast, while Matter compatibility enables smart-home integration. The Loewe remote vi communicates via Bluetooth and accepts voice commands. An art gallery mode displays visuals when the screen is on standby.
For reception, the Antares features a dual-channel platform with two triple DVB-T2, cable and satellite tuners, plus a CI+ 1.4 slot for encrypted channels. You can record to USB storage, watch one channel while recording another, pause live TV and start several recordings simultaneously.
Several possible sound configurations
The integrated sound system, which Loewe calls “invisible sound,” conceals the speakers in the chassis and delivers 2 x 10 W RMS, or 2 x 20 W of music power. For a television of this size, output remains modest, which is where the modular aspect makes sense: the passive Loewe antares soundbar, powered by the television’s electronics, doubles this power, or an external system can be connected via the HDMI eARC output. The center speaker input allows the television to be used as a center channel in a multichannel setup, convenient for integrating it into an existing home theater system. The decoders support Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS-HD and DTS:X, with virtual 3D processing to widen the soundstage.
Connections and dimensions
Connectivity includes four HDMI inputs, including two with the full HDMI 2.1 standard for 144 Hz, VRR, ALLM and QMS; one of them supports eARC for sending sound to a soundbar or amplifier. There are also two USB-A ports and two USB-C ports, Wi-Fi, an Ethernet port and Bluetooth. These are joined by an optical audio output, a headphone output and the aforementioned center speaker input.
Without a stand, the television measures 145.2 x 87.0 x 5.4 cm and weighs 18 kg. With the tabletop stand, it measures 145.2 x 88.7 x 27.4 cm and weighs 22 kg. Wall mounting follows the VESA 300 x 200 mm standard.

Frequently Asked Questions
What sizes is the Antares range available in?
The series is available in 42, 48, 55 and 65 inches. The model described here is the 65-inch version, with a 164 cm diagonal.
Are aluminum applications easy to replace?
They can be removed and repositioned along the top and bottom edges of the screen. Loewe supplies the brushed aluminium and black versions; other colours can be ordered separately as accessories, allowing you to change the look without altering the rest of the TV.
Does the dual tuner require a special subscription?
No, for free-to-air terrestrial and satellite TV, received directly by the built-in DVB-T2, cable and satellite tuners. For encrypted channels, the CI+ 1.4 slot accommodates the module and card provided by the operator.
Can you play at 144 Hz with HDR enabled?
Two of the four HDMI inputs fully comply with the 2.1 standard: they carry a 4K signal at 144 Hz and support VRR, while the panel’s HDR formats remain available. The result depends on what the console or PC actually outputs.
What does factory calibration actually provide?
Each panel is individually calibrated in Kronach. The aim is accurate colour reproduction straight out of the box and consistency from one unit to another, without the need for extensive manual adjustment.
What is needed to record a program?
A USB storage device connected to the TV is all you need. The dual-channel platform records one channel while you watch another, and supports live TV pause as well as multiple simultaneous recordings.
