Design (Triple Balanced)

The three conductors in the “triple balanced” Niagara cable ensure that, regardless of whether RCA or XLR plugs are used, the positive and negative signals have low-distortion conductive paths. The 100% coverage shield is never used as an inferior quality audio conductor.

Insulation (Teflon Air-Tubes)

Air is virtually a perfect dielectric. Once the DBS is connected (for two weeks), the normal irritation caused by non-polarized Teflon is practically eliminated.

Noise-Dissipation System

Easy 100% shield coverage. The Audioquest Noise-Dissipation System is necessary to prevent picked-up RF noise from modulating the equipment’s ground reference. The metal and carbon-loaded synthetics prevent most RF noise from reaching the equipment’s ground plane.

Metal

PSS (Perfect-Surface Silver) has an exceptionally smooth, fine, and pure surface. The technologies applied to prepare the metal protect the cable’s surface at every stage of design and manufacture. Applying Perfect-Surface Technology to extremely pure silver provides unprecedented clarity and dynamic contrast.

Dielectric-Bias System

All insulation slows down the signal inside the conductor. When the insulation is not polarized, it slows down different parts of the signal differently, a big problem for multi-octave sound that is extremely sensitive to timing.

Audioquest’s DBS creates a strong, stable electrostatic field which saturates and polarizes (organizes) the molecules of the insulation. This minimizes both energy storage in the insulation and multiple nonlinear time delays. Sound appears from a surprisingly black background with a stunning amount of detail and dynamic contrast. A DBS battery lasts for several years. A test button and LED allow for occasional checking of battery status.
