The polarizing film on the screen surface displays left and right images for each odd and even horizontal scanning line. When viewed through polarizing glasses, different images reach the left and right eyes, giving the perception of 3D images. This method reduces the vertical resolution by half, but it’s an easy way to view 3D images using inexpensive, lightweight glasses. Ideal for watching with a group.

In addition to increasing the frames generated from 50 to 100 images per second, the backlight control has evolved through zone splitting. Precise backlight flickering reduces afterimages, producing fast, fluid motion without blur. Images of sports, action scenes and other rapid movements are sharp and clear.
