PCOCC Copper Wire

The coils of the cartridge use a pure copper wire with advanced technology, forming a “Para-toroidal Signal Generator”, exclusive to Audio-Technica. Assisted by the laminated structure of the magnetic core, which reduces high-frequency losses, this integrated para-toroidal signal generator works with much higher efficiency than conventional cartridges. The use of PCOCC (Pure Copper by Ohno Continuous Casting) wire further improves the performance of the para-toroidal coil design.

The specific high-temperature extrusion process produces copper with virtually no crystal boundaries, which could impede signal flow or color the sound. As a result, the coils of the AT150Sa cartridge generate distortion-free sound, reproducing the most subtle details with clarity and purity.
