The TDC 500F is based on a unique design in the world of speaker cables: the TDC (Time Difference Control) technology developed by Real Cable. This revolutionary approach uses strands of two different gauges to compensate for a little-known physical phenomenon: in a traditional conductor, bass frequencies naturally travel more slowly than treble.

The cable features braiding in 7 distinct groups, each optimized for a specific frequency range. A large multi-strand group is dedicated exclusively to bass frequencies, while six groups of finer strands handle the mids and highs with remarkable precision. This asymmetric distribution equalizes propagation speeds and achieves temporal coherence across the entire audible spectrum.

The calculated spacing between the two conductors reduces parasitic capacitance, a notable advantage over long distances. The smoked sheath, beyond its practical use for identification, protects the conductors from external influences while maintaining appreciated flexibility during installation.

Materials and Build Quality

The TDC 500F uses exclusively oxygen-free copper (OFC) of exceptional 99.99% purity. This copper quality, achieved through an advanced deoxygenation process, eliminates impurities that could impair conductivity or cause micro-corrosion over time.

This conductor purity is crucial over long runs, where even minimal parasitic resistance can accumulate and degrade the signal. OFC copper retains its conductive properties over time, unlike standard copper, which can develop invisible but measurable internal oxidation.

This substantial gauge reduces linear resistance and preserves the amplifier’s damping factor, an essential parameter for precise speaker control.
