Chassis and Platter

The Performance DC features a resonance-optimized chassis made of highly compressed wood sandwiched between two aluminum plates. This innovative design effectively minimizes unwanted vibrations, ensuring a stable platform for the platter and tonearm.

The 40 mm thick POM (polyoxymethylene) platter is CNC machined for optimal flatness and concentricity. The high-density material, combined with the substantial thickness, offers excellent damping properties and rotational stability. The platter rests on Clearaudio’s patented ceramic magnetic bearing (CMB), which provides frictionless operation and contributes to the turntable’s silent background.

Drive System

At the heart of the Performance DC is a decoupled, resonance-damped DC motor. This precision motor, combined with a flat drive belt, ensures smooth and consistent platter rotation. The motor is powered by a plug-in power supply designed for worldwide use with all power grids and frequencies.
