The Rega Brio MK7 marks a major milestone in the history of the Brio range. Handcrafted, this stereo integrated amplifier combines tradition and innovation with unprecedented technical and functional improvements. Compact, powerful, and versatile, it represents the most advanced model ever designed by Rega.
The Brio MK7 is housed in a custom-designed half-width aluminum casing, offering both durability and elegance. Its compact dimensions (216 x 79 x 365 mm) allow for easy integration into any space while maintaining a solid feel thanks to its 4.9 kg weight. This minimalist design includes a volume potentiometer, an input selector, and a headphone jack on the front panel, accompanied by discreet LED indicators for operational status.
For the first time in the history of the Brio range, the MK7 features a digital-to-analog converter (DAC) designed by Rega. This DAC supports two digital inputs (coaxial and optical), allowing connection to modern sources such as streamers, TVs, or CD players. Additionally, it includes three analog RCA inputs, one of which is dedicated to the built-in moving magnet phono preamplifier.
This unique combination of analog and digital connectivity makes the Brio MK7 particularly versatile. Vinyl enthusiasts will appreciate the quality of the integrated phono preamp, while digital users will benefit from precise audio conversion up to 192 kHz.
With an output power of 50 W per channel at 8 Ω (and 72 W at 6 Ω), the Brio MK7 is capable of driving demanding speakers while delivering exceptional sound reproduction. Its completely redesigned internal circuitry minimizes distortion and optimizes signal purity. The addition of an independent power supply to isolate different stages ensures a clear separation between analog and digital signals.
The Brio MK7’s audio performance stands out for its balance: deep and controlled bass, detailed midrange, and clear, non-aggressive highs. This versatile sound signature is equally suited to acoustic tracks and complex electronic compositions.
The Brio MK7 includes several features designed to enhance the user experience while protecting the device:
These practical additions make the Brio MK7 as reliable as it is high-performing.
Rega remains true to its analog expertise with an integrated phono preamplifier optimized for moving magnet (MM) cartridges. By using highly specified MUSES operational amplifiers and improved stage isolation, this phono stage delivers detailed and dynamic playback of vinyl records. Vinyl enthusiasts will find a preamp here capable of rivaling more expensive external models.
Compared to the Brio MK6, the MK7 introduces major innovations while retaining the historical strengths of the range:
These developments enhance the Brio MK7’s appeal to modern users without compromising its analog DNA.
In any case, Rega has taken a decisive step forward with this amplifier. We were concerned that the price increase might be an issue, but that’s not the case. This integrated unit is versatile and high-performing, made even more appealing by its digital section, which delivers excellent sound quality. If you’re looking for a high-end stereo amplifier in this price range, the Brio Mk7 should definitely be on your shortlist.
The MK7 introduces an integrated DAC for handling digital sources, optimizes internal circuitry to further reduce distortion, and adds practical features like automatic standby.
The integrated DAC offers excellent quality for most home applications. An external DAC is only necessary for very high-end systems or if you require specific features like a USB input.
Yes, its power allows it to effectively drive the majority of speakers available on the market. However, for very low-sensitivity speakers or very large rooms, a more powerful amplifier might be preferable.
Yes, you can connect an external phono preamp via a line input if you wish to use an MC cartridge or experiment with different preamps.
The headphone output benefits from a dedicated circuit that minimizes its impact on the main signal. It is ideal for occasional listening but could be complemented by a dedicated headphone amplifier for demanding audiophiles.
No, it does not have built-in streaming features but can easily be connected to an external streamer via its digital inputs.

Eric
Rega amp with exceptional musicality—I mean, you just listen to the music without overthinking it.
Its built-in DAC is amazing.
I use it with a laptop + SMSL USB to coax converter.
Streaming Qobuz + Audirvana (in my opinion, much better than Qobuz Connect).
It completely outperformed, in terms of musicality, a Chinese set with a class D amp and separate DAC worth 1,500 euros... from a well-known brand, no less.
You can see that Rega chose to prioritize sound over looks (aluminum casing but plastic front panel and buttons).
