Frequently Asked Questions

Can the AD-60 be used as an external DAC for a computer?

Yes. The USB‑C input works in USB DAC mode with Windows and Mac computers. The AD-60 appears as an audio device and can handle files up to 24‑bit / 192 kHz. No additional driver is required on Mac; on Windows, the native USB Audio Class 2.0 driver is sufficient in most cases.

Does Bluetooth support aptX or LDAC codecs?

No. The AD-60 supports SBC and AAC. The AAC codec offers decent quality from Apple devices, but high‑resolution codecs such as aptX HD or LDAC are not available. For maximum sound quality, wired digital inputs remain preferable.

What is the maximum capacity of supported USB drives and TF cards?

The AD-60 reads storage media up to 128 GB. Compatible audio formats include common compressed files (MP3, AAC) and lossless formats (FLAC, WAV, APE).

Is the headphone amplifier suitable for high‑impedance headphones?

The headphone stage can drive most mainstream and audiophile headphones with medium impedance. Very demanding models (beyond 300 Ω) will work, but with more limited volume reserves. For a power‑hungry planar magnetic headphone, a dedicated headphone amplifier will be more appropriate.

Is a phono input built in?

No. The RCA input is a standard line‑level input. To connect a turntable, you must use an external phono preamplifier or a turntable with a built‑in preamp.

Does HDMI ARC mode support multichannel formats?

The HDMI ARC input retrieves the TV’s audio signal and converts it to stereo. Dolby Digital or DTS tracks will be downmixed to two channels. This mode is suitable for watching films and series with quality stereo sound, but not for a multichannel home cinema setup.
