Design

(Triple-Balanced): The three conductors in the triple-balanced Colorado cable ensure that, whether using RCA or XLR plugs, the positive and negative signals have low-distortion conducting paths. The 100% coverage shield is never used as a lower-quality audio conductor.

Metal

PSC+ (Perfect-Surface Copper+) has an exceptionally smooth, fine, and pure surface. The technologies applied to prepare the metal protect the cable’s surface at every stage of design and manufacture.

When extremely pure, low-oxide copper is kept as smooth and flexible as possible, it becomes a wonderful low-distortion PSC conductor. PSC+ Copper is prepared by applying the same technology to ultra-pure copper, eliminating irritation and providing exceptional clarity.

The resulting sound quality is even more precise and natural. For fifteen years, AudioQuest has been the first manufacturer to use superior metals, and we were all surprised by the huge leap in performance. PSC+ Copper simply outperforms the previously available metals, regardless of price.

Insulation (Teflon Air-Tubes)

Air is an almost perfect dielectric element. Once the DBS is connected (for two weeks), the normal irritation caused by non-polarized Teflon is practically eliminated.

Noise-Dissipation System

Easy 100% shielding protection. Audioquest’s Noise-Dissipation System is necessary to prevent captured RF interference from modulating the equipment’s ground reference. Metal and carbon-loaded synthetics prevent most RF interference from reaching the equipment’s ground plane.

Dielectric-Bias System

All insulators slow down the signal inside the conductor. When the insulator is non-polarized, it slows down different parts of the signal differently, which is a serious problem for ultra-sensitive, timing-critical multi-octave sound.

Audioquest’s DBS creates a strong, stable electrostatic field that saturates and polarizes (organizes) the molecules of the insulator. This minimizes energy storage in the insulator and nonlinear multiple delays.

The sound emerges against a surprisingly black background with a startling level of precision and dynamic contrast. The DBS battery has a service life of several years. A test button and LED allow periodic checking of battery status.

Cold-Weld Termination

The RCA plugs are cold-welded at 8000 amperes to the Colorado cable, creating a perfect connection alloy at the junction of cable and plug. Heavy direct silver plating provides the best possible connection. The gold-plated RCA plugs are designed to eliminate distortion caused by the contacts inside most other plugs.
