Rotel was founded in 1957 in Tokyo under the name Roland Electronics, initially assembling televisions for Sylvania. In the 1960s, the company shifted its focus to audio, manufacturing products for renowned American Hi-Fi companies. In 1971, Roland Electronics merged with Martel and became Rotel. Learn more
In the 1980s, Rotel joined the B&W group, establishing distribution networks in North America and Europe, with design in Great Britain and production in Hong Kong. By the late 1980s, under the leadership of Bob Tachikawa, the founder’s son, Rotel expanded into the home theater market.
Today, Rotel is a renowned manufacturer of high-end audio products, awarded more than 200 international prizes over the past 40 years, recognized for the quality and reliability of its components.
