Display and Image Quality

The W1800 boasts a UHD 4K resolution of 3840x2160 pixels, providing sharp and detailed images. It utilizes DLP technology, a 0.47-inch DMD chip from Texas Instruments, and a 240Hz fast pixel shifting to simulate a 4K viewing experience. The projector is HDR10 and HLG compatible, optimizing the display for a higher contrast range and image optimization in bright environments.

BenQ’s CinematicColor technology ensures color accuracy, with the projector covering 100% of the Rec.709 color space, delivering colors as intended by filmmakers. The projector also features a Filmmaker Mode, which preserves the original color, dynamic range, and brightness of films, disabling any image-distorting post-processing.

Brightness and Contrast

The W1800 has a brightness of 2000 ANSI lumens, suitable for dark environments to maintain image quality. The contrast ratio is stated at 10,000:1, typical for DLP projectors in this category. While black levels may not be as deep as some high-end models, the W1800 still manages to deliver convincing dark scenes and maintains sharpness and clarity.

This video projector is equipped with Android TV, offering direct access to a multitude of streaming services.
