Taga Harmony TA-400MIC 2023
Taga Harmony TA-400MIC Stereo Amplifier (2023)
The TA-400MIC is a Class A/B stereo amplifier designed for home hi-fi systems and commercial installations in restaurants, pubs, shops, conference rooms, and fitness clubs for background music, voice playback, or karaoke systems.
Amplification and Power
The TA-400MIC uses Class AB amplification with bipolar transistors. It delivers a power output of 2 x 60 W at 8 Ω and 2 x 90 W at 4 ohms. This ample power allows it to drive a wide range of speakers, from compact bookshelf models to medium-sized floorstanders.
The power supply relies on an oversized toroidal transformer and high-capacity filtering capacitors. This ensures a significant energy reserve to reproduce audio signal transients and dynamics without compression.
Connectivity and Features
A unique feature of the TA-400MIC is its microphone input with volume and echo control. This allows for mixing a voice with the music, ideal for karaoke nights or event hosting. The microphone signal can be sent to speaker outputs A, B, or A+B.
On the output side, there are screw terminals compatible with cables up to 4 mm2 in cross-section. A selector allows directing the signal to speaker pair A, B, or A+B. A 6.35 mm jack headphone output is also available on the front panel.
Audio Performance
The TA-400MIC offers balanced and dynamic sound reproduction that highlights all musical styles. The soundstage is wide and deep, with a great sense of space. The timbres are realistic, especially on vocals and acoustic instruments.
The bass is deep and well-controlled, without dragging or lacking responsiveness. The midrange is precise and detailed, making it easy to follow melodic lines and dialogues. The treble is fine and airy, without harshness or sibilance.
The versatility of the TA-400MIC allows it to adapt to many speakers. It has enough power to drive medium-efficiency models and reveal their potential. With easy-to-drive speakers, it demonstrates finesse and musicality.
