Sophisticated Acoustic Architecture

The VX66-LCR stands out thanks to its premium acoustic components, which ensure faithful and dynamic sound reproduction. At the heart of the system are two 165 mm Kevlar/Nomex woofers with rubber surrounds. This high-tech composite material, used notably in aerospace for its lightness and exceptional rigidity, enables bass reproduction that is both precise and powerful.

For the high frequencies, Sonance has integrated a 25 mm ceramic dome tweeter cooled by ferrofluid and equipped with a rear acoustic chamber. This sophisticated configuration ensures crystal-clear reproduction of high frequencies, with remarkable precision in the subtlest details of voices and instruments.

This two-way architecture offers an extended frequency range from 43 Hz to 20 kHz (±3 dB), thus covering virtually the entire audible spectrum with exemplary linearity. The advanced acoustic design also results in a high sensitivity of 90 dB SPL, allowing comfortable sound levels without excessively taxing the connected amplifier.

Perfect Visual Integration

The Sonance Visual Experience series was developed around a fundamental concept: to deliver exceptional sound while minimizing the visual impact of the speakers in the living space. The VX66-LCR perfectly embodies this philosophy with its ultra-discreet design and multiple customization options.

Two types of grilles are available for the speaker: the “Micro Trim” grille, which features a slim and elegant frame, and the “Trimless” grille, which sits completely flush with the wall for maximum discretion. These rectangular grilles are specifically designed to harmonize with modern architectural lines.

The grilles come fully painted in white but can be repainted to perfectly match the color of your walls or ceilings. This visual adaptability makes the VX66-LCR an ideal solution for interiors where aesthetics are as important as sound quality.

The Flex Frame Mounting System: A Practical Innovation

Installing in-wall speakers is often a technical challenge. Sonance revolutionizes this step with its patented Flex Frame mounting system, which greatly simplifies the wall integration process.

This ingenious system consists of an installation frame and a separate speaker module. This modular approach offers unprecedented flexibility during installation. You can choose between a traditional one-step installation or opt for a two-step process: first the frame, then the acoustic module. The latter method has the advantage of not exposing the speaker’s fragile components during interior finishing work (painting, sanding, etc.).

Attachment is achieved using the RotoLock® system, which ensures perfect and lasting support in the wall without the risk of unwanted vibrations. The required mounting depth is 89 mm, which is compatible with most modern constructions using plasterboard on metal or wood framing.

Acoustic Performance and Versatility

The “LCR” designation (Left-Center-Right) indicates that this speaker is specifically designed for the three front positions in a home theater system: left, center, and right. Its particular acoustic design, with two vertically arranged woofers, optimizes horizontal sound dispersion, which is essential for a homogeneous soundstage and perfect dialogue intelligibility.

The Sinusoidal Textured Waveguide is a Sonance innovation that significantly improves sound dispersion. This technology ensures uniform coverage throughout the room, avoiding acoustic “hot spots” where the sound would be unbalanced. Thus, every listener enjoys the same listening quality, regardless of their position in the room.

The CDX (Complex Directivity Crossover) passive filter represents another major technical advancement. Inspired by technologies developed for Sonance’s Invisible Series, this filter optimizes the transition between lows and highs to achieve a warmth of sound that makes listening pleasant at any volume, without ever sacrificing detail.

This speaker can be used for both cinema and music listening. Its power handling of 140 watts RMS allows it to faithfully reproduce the most dynamic passages of movie soundtracks or complex musical recordings.
