Overview

This lot consists of two EAR Yoshimo 509 Mk2 monoblock tube power amplifiers.

The power tubes are new and matched; the ECC85 input tubes are NOS (New Old Stock) from National.

Tube amplifiers are generally characterized by a beautiful midrange with “substance”, but few tube amplifiers can boast perfect control of the bass, which is the prerogative of transistor amplifiers.

Tim De Paravicini, their designer who worked for a long time for the Japanese firm LUXMAN, has created an exceptional product that excels in reproducing all registers; the 509 MK2 blocks achieve the feat of providing high power in a compact size.

The 509 MK2 blocks come with protective grilles for the tubes.
