USB-C
The USB-C connector equips many audio and video devices thanks to its reversible port and versatility. It can be found on soundbars, smart speakers, portable projectors, network players, and recent turntables. Depending on the model, the USB-C port provides power, firmware updates, playback of files from a flash drive or external disk, reception of a digital audio stream from a computer or smartphone, or even transmission of a video signal via DisplayPort Alt Mode.
Connection remains simple, but capabilities vary from one product to another: the same connector may follow the USB 2.0 standard or a USB 3.x revision, with very different data rates. Before purchasing a cable or accessory, you should check the supported revision and the uses actually handled by the device.
