The PM6005 represents much more than a simple upgrade to the multi-award-winning PM6004. Much more. Because now, this superb integrated amplifier connects directly to a wide range of digital sources and employs its analog-to-digital converter to deliver incredible audio quality to your new media.

Naturally, Marantz favored pre-amplification and power amplification sections featuring discrete components, not a single integrated circuit handling the entire audio signal. That’s because the quality of specially selected independent components surpasses that of integrated circuits, and they deliver much more sonic detail, offering greater clarity and transparency.

Marantz also integrated a shielded, low-impedance toroidal transformer and specially designed main capacitors. Of course, Marantz retained all the original features like the six line-level audio inputs, including a phono input, two pairs of gold-plated speaker terminals supporting convenient bi-wiring, and the remote control.

However, the amplifier now incorporates coaxial and optical digital inputs. The analog-to-digital converter is the proven high-current CS4398 24-bit/192kHz model found in many Premium range products. As for the digital section, it is fully shielded with an additional metal housing to eliminate any interference with the analog signal.
