The PM6006 is an improved successor to the PM6005. The PM6006 upgrades the peak current of the amplifier stage, allowing for refined sound. Connect this superb integrated amplifier directly to a wide range of digital sources and use its high-current CS4398 24-bit/192kHz DAC to create a new high-end audio experience. Additionally, the unit also comes with 2 optical inputs and 1 coaxial digital input (one more optical input compared to the older PM6005). The entire digital section is fully shielded by an additional metal casing, ensuring the digital stage has no effect on the analog signal. Of course, all the original features are preserved - 5-line audio input, including a phonograph, two pairs of gold-plated speaker connectors for easy splitting into two lines, and remote control knobs. The low-impedance shielded toroidal transformer with custom components and Marantz’s unique HDAM module deliver powerful, dynamic, and sophisticated original Marantz sound. In short, the new PM6006 is a rising star with excellent genes.

Marantz HDAM Technology

Marantz developed a unique separation board to replace the standard integrated circuit. These HDAM modules are made of separate surface-mount components and short mirrored L/R signal paths. These devices function exactly like Op-amps but significantly outperform classic IC Op-amps in terms of slew rate and noise reduction performance, resulting in more dynamic, accurate, and finer sound. Over the years, Marantz has developed different types of HDAMs to enhance quality and meet the particular requirements of different product categories, such as CDs and amplifiers.

Toroidal Transformer

The toroidal transformer has more advantages than the ordinary EI-core transformer. It is highly efficient and thus delivers more power than a basic EI transformer of the same size. Moreover, due to its shape, electromagnetic radiation and mechanical vibrations are extremely low, allowing for better sound quality.

High Current Power Supply

The power supply features a high-current, high-speed Schottky diode and a high-current storage capacitor which together provide a wide dynamic range with low-impedance drive capability. Reference-quality D/A conversion for digital input. The PM6006 features high-resolution D/A conversion and a reference-level CS4398 D/A converter providing resolutions up to 192kHz/24-bit for optimal fidelity with various types of high-resolution audio files.
