Behind the front grille are 44 strategically positioned speakers. To create the 7-channel sound beams (Front L/R, Center, Surround L/R, Height L/R), each speaker is controlled separately and powered by its own amplification circuit. All these beams are projected onto the walls and ceiling to be precisely reflected towards the listening position to recreate an audio system similar to a sound configuration with rear and ceiling speakers: the 3D surround reproduction is real, not virtual. Moreover, the YSP-5600 uses the Surround channel beam to reproduce the Surround Back channels, with the Surround channel encapsulated in Phantom mode to offer 7.1.2-channel Dolby Atmos or DTS:X playback.
With the Home Theatre Controller app (WLAN), you can use a smartphone or tablet to control basic functions or beam settings. The MusicCast Controller app allows you to control audio streaming to devices connected via MusicCast. MusicCast is a revolution in networked audio. MusicCast devices can be used separately or together, however you like. MusicCast uses a high-performance wireless network to stream sound without alteration. This protocol can transfer music from a smartphone, PC, or NAS to other MusicCast devices in your home. It also allows you to share music from other equipment such as a TV or Blu-ray player connected to the YSP-5600. Audio content from Bluetooth smartphones and tablets can also be distributed to MusicCast devices in multiple rooms. All MusicCast models are Bluetooth compatible. Not only can you stream content from your smartphone - including from video and music services - but you can distribute it to other rooms. In addition, a wide variety of formats are supported, including MP3, WMA, AAC, Apple Lossless, WAV, FLAC, and AIFF.
The front panel and display are covered with a grille, offering a simple and elegant appearance. On each edge, the grille is curved on its upper face for subtly increased stability. The display only lights up when necessary to avoid interfering with viewing. Despite its special vertical-beam speakers, the unit is only 1,100 mm, which is 100 mm less than the previous YSP-5100. Its depth is only 93 mm (without stand), making it particularly discreet.
For this new version of the flagship model in its range of sound projectors, Yamaha has gone all out. The engineers at the Japanese brand have not simply added height channels, but the beam technology as a whole has been completely redesigned. The result is impressive, especially for home theater - the YSP-5600 takes it to a whole new level. Bulky, very bulky. Semi-easy settings and NO access to radio stations, except in a very confusing way. Otherwise, good voice filters and a hell of a sound!

I resold the product to a friend because the soundbar did not satisfy me.
Disappointed when listening, the sounds lack precision.
It makes noise for sure, but for me, that's where it ends!
I'm still looking for Dolby Atmos!!
But in its defense, the walls of my living room are not configured with a wall behind the seating area; it is easily 7-8 meters behind, and a bay window covers the entire right side.
I think you need to have a maximum surface area of 25m2 and walls all around.
However, it does make an impression at my friend's place, who has a more standard and smaller room!
