Overview

The EQ-Max 10 series features a 195 W RMS and 390 W peak Class D amplification, with a 10-inch reinforced synthetic fiber woofer in a bass reflex enclosure. While primarily geared towards home theater, and sealed enclosures are still most recommended for hi-fi listening, they offer quite decent musical performance for versatile use.

The interactive display on the front panel allows you to control it remotely with the included remote to adjust volume, select one of four custom listening presets (Movies, R&B/Rock, Jazz/Classical, and Games), correct phase, turn the front LED on or off, or limit output for late night listening.

Simplified setup: Auto-EQ and remote control

The typically complex setup of a subwoofer is Velodyne’s forte. With the EQ-Max series, the American brand concentrates advanced technologies previously deployed on the prestigious Digital Drive models. With the Auto-EQ system, you simply unplug the subwoofer, place it where you want, connect the included microphone, and let the 5-band digital equalizer do its magic to deliver superb bass. This process is even easier since the Velodyne EQ-Max comes with a remote control. The remote also lets you choose from factory presets like Night mode and adjust volume.

Class-D amplification and long-throw driver

Velodyne remains faithful to Class-D amplification and its long-throw drivers designed specifically for subwoofers. These feature dual-layer, oversized voice coils and massive magnets (2.1 to 4.6 kg!). Combine these elements with the Distortion Limiting System and you’ll understand that the EQ-Max will deliver very pure, overhang-free bass.
