The AV7704 is an uncompromising 11.2 channel audio/video processor and preamplifier, designed to be used with an external amplification system or high-quality active speakers.

It features all the latest functionalities, such as Dolby Vision compatibility, unrivaled 3D surround sound decoding, and HEOS audio streaming, but it forgoes internal amplification, allowing the interior design and engineering to be entirely dedicated to producing the purest sound possible and avoiding any potential interference from powerful amplification sections encroaching on the delicate digital and analog signal sections.

It is a long-standing audiophile practice to separate the preamplification and amplification sections in this way in order to optimize the power supply and circuitry for their specific purposes. The AV7704 preamplifier further enhances audio quality by delicately processing all signals via the Marantz HDAM preamplifiers in a current feedback topology before transferring them to the high-quality 11.2 channel XLR or 11.2 channel RCA outputs and the separate power amplifier.
